Here is my best idea so far. A modification of the barrel to have thousands of switches all the way down to change the diameter of the barrel. Initially the switches are all stacked on top of each other with the rifling on the top. But then the falling casing will flip the switches 90 degrees which will put the rifling towards the center.

Here's another method. Well call it the spindle method. Haven't figured out how to get rifling to work yet. But the basic idea is that there's millions of spindles that can bend down but not up. So the casing can fall down but the spindles create a barrel narrow enough to where the bullet will only go through, the casing will be left down.
