My thoughts? I think the current population of /pol/ is basically a year-long summer. Without Trump we wouldn't have this metric fuckton of concentrated autism spewing all over the place.

I mean it was inevitable that a board's culture would eventually go maintstream, so I can't blame /pol/ for being what it is. Now, that isn't to say this shit will eventually come to a head and we'll get our early-90's-style terror attacks, but eventually it'll fade as our culture continues to shift around.

What really puts an expiration date on all of this is that people naturally like their cake and they want to eat it too. You can't have cheap *everything* and also have an isolated nation that rejects globalism, but you can have a global community that isn't beholden to corporate interests. So I think we're seeing another surge of people, angry at the powers that be, acting out because they haven't been heard. BLM, the alt-right, #StandWithHer, and so on are all stemming from the same thing. As time goes on and the people get what they want, we'll eventually go back to the regular scheduled programming. Remember, this is largely a result of young people being mad at hell that the magical promises sold to them aren't coming to fruition; eventually people are going to grow up.

So I think then "nu-/pol/" will fade along with the larger entity that it's married to, and we'll see another 90's period of relative stability.
