People make a bunch of posts and get upset when nobody replies. They get desperate and make bait threads because negative attention is better than no attention. Many such cases. Sad.
>>
>>34335462
>Why is it so popular?
Because the overwhelming majority of 9mm owners will never have to shoot for blood. They have they luxury of carrying an inadequate round.
>>
>>34336021
>overwhelming majority of 9mm owners
does this statement include the US military?

Results are in, .357 is not a lethal round.

Not impossible. I remember something about a SEAL getting shot like 27 times, or some other inordinate number, and pulling through. Five rounds, you could miss the heart/aorta on all five, easily.

Honestly the language isn't very clear.

But seeing as how it says five times, it's pretty safe to assume that he was shooting.

He shot him 5 times in the chest at point blank.
JHP is why he died, not bad shot placement.

You would expect someone to die on site after getting shot five times in the chest.
I would like to see more details on this to determine whether it was poor shot placement or inadequate penetration.

Just for grins I looked this up:
A study done in by the University of Pennsylvania showed that, in Philadelphia,:

In 1985, of 91 homicides

44% .38 caliber revolver
19% .25 caliber pistol
14% .22 caliber revolver
14% .32 caliber revolver
3% 9 mm pistol
2% .357 caliber revolver

In 1990, of 204 homicides

23% 9 mm pistol
18% .38 caliber revolver
16% .357 caliber revolver
16% .22 caliber revolver
10% .32 caliber revolver

"The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services studied 844 homicides that occurred in 18 jurisdictions from 1989 through 1991.
Firearms were identified as the murder weapon in 600 cases. Over 70% of the firearms used were handguns. Of those handguns where the
caliber and firing action could be identified, 19% were a .38 caliber revolver, 10% were .22 caliber revolvers, and 9% were 9 millimeter
semiautomatic pistols."

"The Hawaii Department of the Attorney General, Crime Prevention Division, studied 59 firearms-related homicides in Honolulu from 1988
to 1992. Handguns were used in 48 homicides (over 80%) including 11 handguns of 9 millimeter caliber, 10 of .357 caliber, 10 of .38 caliber, and 5 of .25 caliber."

Seems like 9mm does it's fair share of killing.
>>
>>34336365
>gentle giant
>>
>>34340439
That's not really saying much about effectiveness. If 1000 9mm bullets kill 5 people, that's still more than a 100 10mm killing 4 people, but the 10mm would obviously be better at killing. Not even saying 9mm is harmless or anything, it's just not an accurate way to measure it's abilities.

and theres also that guy who was convinced his pastor was an alien so he shot him in the head 7 times with a .45 but he survived it.
>>
>>34336085
It applies ESPECIALLY to the military. Use of handguns by soldiers is exceedingly rare. Most will never even kill anyone with a rifle, let alone a pistol.
>>
Try shooting yourself in the face with it
>>
>>34340439
i think 9mm is prefered by people who need mag capacity, and niggers who cant aim.
