Hi /k/ I am moving into an unsafe neighborhood and I was wondering what gun is best for self defense. I have 0 experience with firearms and I was wondering if pic related is the best for a beginner.

A long arm is objectively better for a new shooter
The Taurus Judge obviously. Made by a reputable American manufacturer. Extremely reliable (revolvers never jam). Compact like a pistol. Powerful like a shotgun.
Mossberg Shockwave.

Alright I will look into that do you have any recommendations?
attach bayonet for close encounters
>>34333990
Just get a pump action 12 gauge. Any brand so long as it works

try an AR-15, Mossberg 500, or Remington 870.
m&p sport 2 is on bud's for $544.87 and the shotguns will run you ~$400.

Is that you hickok45?

Get a Glock 19. If you cant afford one, get a Maverick 88.

Are you planning on carrying it? If not, intermediate cartridge self loading rifle is what you want. AR-15s are cheap as fuck for functional stuff, now. Actually less than a Glock 19.

PGO sucks compared to a full sized shotgun

>ar 15 for HD
be careful about your surroundings. I would say no on an AR for an apartment. don't want to hit your neighbors.
shotgun or handgun would be better for HD in that case.
rural areas would be better for AR

I think I know you

>Benelli M4
Find on made post 2012 because they hold 8 instead of 6

I got u senpai
Make sure to use a 96/11 or g11, as they are the longest of the swiss rifles
>>34338249
Dont forget to affix one of these here "pioneer" bayonets. They are the longest, and they have serrations for cutting through walls in case you are in a room with only one ingress point
I suggest a scope like in pic related. It's great for defending from a distance.
Soon as that kraut peeks over the far alps, you just lob in a shot from 1-2km away and be done with it.
7.5x55 GP11 is a great round for these types of cross-valley defense situations

On the other hand, if you didn't mean defending your swiss canton from Nazi invasion, you might want to consider a different weapon.
If you tell us what kind of "self defense" you are in need of specifically, it'd be helpful.
Semi-auto shotguns are great for close quarters home defense. There are tons of different loads available, depending on your needs.
If you want to carry something, consider a revolver in 357
If you want to conceat, maybe an FNX45, with it's 15+1 capacity of .45acp
deeper concealment calls for a small fram semi-automatic in 9mm
Ruger LC9s is my current pocket carry, since I'm on a noguns campus for work and class. Best in class for ccw IMO.
Being a newbie, I might also suggest the crimson trace laser, not only for accurate aiming but it will help your confidence if the need actually arises and you haven't practiced enough .

Transferable Uzi with a buffer to boost the rate of fire in close quarters.
>>34338437
Wouldn't a mac11 or 10 be cheaper then?
>>34338452
Only by about 2k these days. (9.5 on an uzi last month, vs 7 for bottom of the barrel macs (on sturm and GB)).
