Been a while since I came to /k/ - shot a dozen different guns but they all belonged to my father/grandfather - that said, been a while since I've been around firearms and fapped to them - and I want to build/buy my first AR...

Yeah I've tried looking around already, and I will continue to research options - just having some suggestions could be nice still. As far as forward charging handles go, I haven't really seen anything I like. And from what I've seen so far, it seems you can only get one or the other (forward charging or piston operated - not both).

I decided on the MFR XS for 2 reasons, because i really liked it when I had the 15" on my SPR and because its very light (13.5 is 8 ounces) but still durable enough for my uses.

I know I'm going to end up with a laser of and light hanging on the end of my rail and the block II was a pig so I want something more ergodynamic again. DD LW barrel should help in that regard too.

Fuck I just tried to install a Magpul M-lok Vertical Grip on my handguard and both screws stripped. What the fuck? I'm not retarded I built my rifle myself... If I can handle stupid fucking roll pins I feel like a new innovative mounting mechanism shouldn't be too hard to handle.

It was all old guys but they were all really nice. Some of them will let you borrow a gun too if you're starting out.
