So /k/ I'm 19. When I was 16 I did some stupid shit at my school (nothing harmful or all that threatening. Primarily banter) that got me thrown into a very low-security Mental Facility here in Cali. I had to be transported multiple times to multiple different buildings before my"hold" actually started. Apparently, what I had told my friends (literally just jokes about school shootings in an unironic tone) was enough to get me put under a '51-50 hold/contract'. Which basically strips me of my 2A rights for the next 5 years. I had the option to not sign it, but I didn't care much for guns back then, and well for the past year or two, I've gotten super into guns and I wanted to buy one when I turned 18...that's when I remembered I had the contract. After a bit of digging, I've discovered that this 51-50 shit might (heavy emphasis on might) be a California-only thing...meaning that, if that's the case, I can move out of state and be scot-free. I'm still not sure about it, so I came here to ask if any a y'all knew if that was the case with the contract? Anything'll help, I just don't want to wait until I'm 21 (or 22) to exercise my damned rights!

How can a 16 year old sign a legally binding contract?
>lasts for 5 years
>19
>in California
Depending on where, you need to focus on school/work and save save save.
When the time comes, and you leave the state, you will have a head start on moving money and gun money.
But you better fucking vote conservative, don't bring the california shit over to another state.
Wouldn't being involuntarily admitted to a mental institution disqualify you from firearm ownership for life? That's one of the questions on the 4473 right?

Legal liability starts at 16 in most states. I know this because the facility I work at doesn't require me to screen anyone under 16

I'm Conservative. Pretty sure a Cali Liberal wouldn't be going on /k/ to ask about a contract that keeps them from buying guns. kek

I'm not too big on this stuff, so I wouldn't know sadly. The contract I was asked to sign does mention that I can ask for a hearing even after I signed it, but only one hearing.

>literally making yolks about school shootings
>violating the law
you what?

Second reply, sorry.
I've just read the 4473 online and the instructions for question 11 f. the question that pertains to me the most. And from my understanding, if a call like this was made in another state (even temporarily), it won't affect me...but I'm a little tired and I can't exactly comprehend much at the moment, so excuse me if it's even a tad off.

Sounds like another case of win stupid prize.
Good luck with that.
