Hello /k/.

due to increasing tensions both around the world and locally, i am looking to purchase a California legal semi auto rifle that shoots 7.62x39mm ammunition. my budget is 1k. I was thinking of a C39V2 like in pic related unless anyone has any other suggestions. Thanks for the help

Your reason for wanting to buy a rifle is stupid, but SKS. Check the calguns forums marketplace.
>>
>>34330159
>>34330175
This, SKS is legal, cheaper than any AK that will be Cali legal, and generally have butter construction due to all milled parts.
>>
My recommendation is to move
>>
>>34330159
How bout tou move to a non communist state, faggot?

That takes alot of time and money plus i would have to find a new job and a new home. believe me when i say i would if i could
>>
>>34330159
Get an AR-15 with fixed stock grip wrap and a brake instead of a flash hider.
>>
>>34330264
These are collector Items now.
>>
If you want something newer and we'll made get a vepr op. Otherwise sks and have monies left over for other stuff

You have plenty of time.

With the new law against online orders going into effect and how most russian ammo is a fire danger, you are better off going .308 or .300blk if you insist on a thiety caliber.

Seeing how you are a noob no guns asking such basic bitch questions on /k/ without doing your own research, I'd say get a 9mm or .45 acp AR-15

Ammo is cheaper and easier to find locally in So Cal.
>>
>>34330442
Russian shit is collector now, if your a californian wanting to get into Vepr's or Saiga's, you should have gotten them, magazines and ammo five years ago.
>>
>>34330159
HOW DO YOU HOLD THAT?
>>
>>34332508
Very uncomfortably.
>>
>>34330159
Step one: move out of communistafornia
>>
>>34330159
Get an sks unless you plan on moving to another state, or want an ak really bad.
If you want the ak then modify a vepr variant, or you can get a wasr or something foreign.
Going usa made is a risk.
You can always get mags easily for an ak, and I prefer them as well.
As other said, ammo is going to be hard to get, unless you reload.
>>
>>34332508
Whenever I hold a "featureless" rifle I wonder if the capitol wants the gun to be less safe, because that shit is hard to handle. Its hard to reach the safety on an ar when you go featureless.

Considering the prohibition of purchasing ammo online, depending on the supply and demand it might be hard to get.
It might not. IDK, I just know reloading components are, and will be gtg when that law comes into effect.

You can walk into Turner's and pick up as many cases of 7.62x39 as you like. They're something like 22-25 cents a round last I checked.

Also, >>34330159
SKS. You won't have to worry about compliance parts. If you ever need replacement parts I suggest Desert Fox online, they're hosted in socal and ship pretty quickly and show up to all the gun shows.
>>
>>34330437>>34330264
CT cuck here. One FFL near me sometimes has one in stock for around $850. They ship.

>>
>>34332834
Without online retailers your are down to your local retailers. Most only stock one or two brands of 7.62x39
>>
>>34334047
for now...most people don't buy ammo at Turner's because it's expensive as fuck. I tell you what this weekend I'll go and take a picture. Point is even with shipping, most online retailers from out of state are cheaper and you have better selection variety and you can buy in bulk over 500 rounds...most local stores limited to five boxes during the panic buying.
>>
>>34332788
Well du 4

Their laws make no sense and mostly they want you so hassled to own and use a gun that you will give up. Proper protest is to no register and go featureless.

Pro Tip

Install ambi selector switch and use a hand stop, basically you

Then all you can use a kydex wrap, fixed stock and muzzle break and still have confidence with your rifle.
>>
>>34332788
The capitol didn't design them, gun manufacturers did to keep making a profit off of their assault weapon stock and allow people to easily convert them illegally.
>>
>>34335441

Their .22 is okay. But yes everything else is a scam
>>
What's a good caliber for armor penetration? Preferably able to go through level three steel plate.
>>
>>34335613
5.56 M193 or M855A1.

Get this OP, it fires .357 rounds and get around all the california legal bullshit, I got it and guess what, doesnt have to go through an FFL and you can buy the ammo online

Mini 30 is on sale right now at Big5.

Also why 7.62 x 39? There's no/little domestic production so it's vulnerable to sanctions and international bullshit and you can't buy shit online anymore after this year.

Czechpoint produces CA-legal fixed mag VZ58s. They're pretty neat since they were originally designed to load with stripper clips through the action.

>>34330159
I'd recommend a Ruger Mini-14 in .223. It's the NATO standard cartridge and as such is plentiful and cheap -- and, with bonded bullets, can now by ethically used on hogs and smaller deer.
>>
>>34330431
>believe me when i say i can but won't
>>
>>34338447
It depends on state law. Up here in the people's republic of Cascadia it's illegal to use anything smaller than .24 on deer.
>>
>>34330175

Yugos are banned because of the mounted grenade launcher and Chinkshit is banned by name. So unless cheap Tula SKSs appeared when I wasn't looking this is false.

There's some Russian ones on a few auction sites and a couple can be found on other online stores.
