I have a question for the well regulated among you.
How many rounds do you keep in your 30rd mags?
I heard they will hold up better over the years if I keep them with 28 or so rather than filling them to capacity.

I fill them to full capacity just the way God intended
>>34325430
I load only one bullet in a mag at a time. I can't deny the superiority of semi-autos but my inner fudd requires some sort of manual action before every shot.

30 rounds in 30 round mags
I only put 40 rounds in my 42 round AUG mags tho
I have 4 of them and like to keep my ammo in 10s

holy shit whoever took this pic needs to throw out all those greens.
Just fill them all the way. you're a prepper and plan on burying them innawoods somewhere it will take the metal a literal decade to start (read that START) to relax and retain it's compressed shape

Remove the gas system and feed rounds manually then
>>34325791
or get a eurocuck bolt action AR
>>34325640
Just buy replacement followers for the greens. Not too hard.

Replacement followers are like $1, might as well swap 'em and see if that fixes whatever likely ails 'em.
31, plus 1 in the chamber.
I only fill my magazines half way, the rest of my ammo would go in my pack so I can save weight

25.
Keeping mags loaded for long periods won't wear out springs, but springs DO take a slight set after a few years. 25 its nearly full, easy to multiply when counting mags, and if the spring does take a slight set over a decade or two there will still be more than enough tension to feed the last few rounds.

^ Video this screenshot is from. Mags labeled U were left unloaded, mags labeled L were loaded for a few years.

The reason for downloading them to 28 is to make it easier to seat the magazine fully on a closed bolt.

Over loading a mag and overcompressing the spring IS a way to fuck up magazines and ruin the spring in them though.

Shitty b8 or you're fucking retarded.
