Anyone else think .32 S&W long still has a place in the world?

Name a better round for a snub-nose. The shit is perfect for a compact carry gun.
>>
I actually agree. If I remember correctly, NYPD used it for years and when Theodore Roosevelt was police commissioner he wholeheartedly endorsed it as a very superior round for accuracy. I've found the same in my limited experience.

Remember, though, we live in a world of caliber religions, where some folks seem to think that there is a vast superiority of their chosen round over all others. No doubt .32 S&W Long isn't going to stack up in ballistics tests against 9mm or .45. But is it an effective round nevertheless? I think so.
>>
>>34323051
.327 federal magnum is objectively better

I wish more revolvers where chambered in it
I believe you can also fit .32 S&W, .32 S&W Long, .32 Colt, .32 New Colt, and finally .32 H&R magnum
>>
It has more of a place in the world than I do
>>
>>34323051
.327 Federal Magnum is better.
>>
>>34323209
...do you wanna talk about it?
>>
>>34323051
.32 acp
>>
>>34323201
>>34323215
The round is almost as dead as 32 long. Smith doesn't even sell them any more, and ruger only makes one, a pants on head retarded 4.2" sp101
>>
>>34324371
>Doesn't know about the .327 LCR
>>
>>34323051
.38 special
.32 is only good for executing starving soviet peasants
>>
>>34323051
Yes, I agree. It's an underrated cartridge with surprisingly good performance. If .327 actually got the popularity it deserved then .32 would fill the role of the .38 for .357 revolvers. But we're talking about revolvers here, nothing in that realm is ever gaining traction again.
>>
>>34324371
The LCR has chambered it for over a year now and Henry just released four versions of their Big Boy in it.
>>
>>34323051
I like it but nato and warsaw standardisation has killed any real chance of ever having diverse
selections of cartridges ever again
>>
.32 Long will probably be around awhile simply because there are tons of older guns chambered in it .Many of them are decent quality and the round is low pressure enough to not stress the firearm badly.
Still used in some competetive shooting with wadcutters also.
>>
>>34325830
For like $200 more
>sad .32 fan :(

>All these retards recommending the cartridge

A fucking Indian made Webley in an obscure old cartridge. Weird.

I do. Still carry one on occasion.
>>
>>34327124
Oops. My bad. That's .38 S&W
>>
>>34327069
These things are incredible because they're like $2000 USD and are made almost entirely of titanium. The reason for the obscure cartridge is that Indian laws don't allow cartridges past a certain caliber and I think the .32 is about the limit.

A bit lethargic but ok. Prefer 32 hr magnum. I shoot it out of a nagant revolver all the time. I blow out cases all the time but i still have fingers
>>
>>34327069
>>34327190
I find it a little incredible that someone still produces a Webley style revolver. Not complaining though.

Which S&W is that?
>>
I want to get a .32 s&w long single shit rifle. No reason, I just think it would be fun
>>
>>34326987
This tbqh, if Ruger had pushed .32 H&R instead of their new meme version it would've sold. It just needs to have a quality 115 grain hollow point shoved into it and it'd work basically like a 9mm.
>>
>>34328768
Except they did that shit in the 80's and it fucking didn't.

Their biggest mistake was chambering the .327 in a snubby, the GP100, and .44 frame blackhawk. Had they gone with a relatively long barreled SP101 and Single Six from the start it would've done better. Taurus, Charter, and S&W all did the snubbie meme despite them all having K-frame type revolvers that would've been the perfect home.
>>

just wait til The Gunslinger comes out. summerfag fedoras will be lusting after top break Schofields

Colt should make the 1903 & 1908 again. Maybe with an AL frame to make it lighter.
>>
>>34323051
If you want small .32 revolver, use .32 acp.
If you want powerful .32 revolver, use .327 Fed mag.
>>
>>34323051
A .32 is something I would give to a 10 year old if the apocalypse was happening or we were visiting Detroit.
>>
>>34323051

Nigga I still think .32 SHORT has a place in the world.
>>
>>34327069
i desire this for reasons beyond my comprehension
>>
>>34328299
Like the other guy said i tried to lay it out but...i shoot 32 sw longs and 32 hr mags out of a nagant revolver. Probably shot 400 rounds that way. About 1 out of 5 blow out. 1 out of 10 brass gets stuck in the cylinder and you have to use the rod to push them out. Its been fun. No explosions. Ive still never actually shot nagant ammo out of it.
>>
>>34330460
It's faster to hold a pen offhand and just jab the brass out than to use the rod.
>>
>>34330460
>32 hr mags out of a nagant revolv
I thought the pressures involved with that would've glocknaded it
>>
>>34327588
>>34327190
It's a piece of shit and made from a random combo of designs related to the Webley designs and other revolvers used by the Indians and British. It's just bad

.38 special is better.
>>
Just get a .38 J frame
>>
>>34327758
Just because it isn't sold at Wal-Mart doesn't mean there's an availability issue. My LGS has it, and you can find it online easily enough. It's slightly more expensive compared to .38 Special, at 35-40 cents per round, but not a huge deal. I won't let "availability" or small price increases stop me from owning some pretty cool guns.
>>
>>34330068
They did though, but technically not.
>>
>>34323051
There aren't any decent rounds on the market except the Buffalo Bore hardcast shit. Hard to find FMJ .32 SW long. It's not the worst round ever but I'd feel 10x better off with a .380 anything. I have my great grandfather's old SW hand ejector .32 pre j frame. I've carried it before but I'm having light strikes now, so it needs a new hammer spring I'm guessing
