Insurgency 2 does very much so. I think part of it lies in making every firearm sound distinct, like how the AKs in the game sound punchier and more metallic, while the ARs have a much more precise and clean firing sound. As far as the pistols go, they sound kinda poppy coupled with higher pitched metallic sounds of what I assume are the slides moving. Should probably just watch a showcase of the guns to hear what I mean.

IMO Battlefield 1, for all its faults and WE WUZ, has some fantastic sound design. I remember playing operations on St. Quentin Scar, I was a British soldier waiting in a trench for the round to start. Support player next to me gets bodyshot the moment the round started, and all I can hear is "AAAAH! FUCK FUCK MAKE IT STOP PLEASE!" Pretty haunting, especially when you hear people burning to death.

Unpopular opinion: I loved battlefield 1 and still do to this day. It might be quirky, it might not be accurate by any historian's standards, but damn is it ever fun picking up a MG15 elite class and mowing down some french swines. Nowadays I play Rising storm 2.
