>mfw own a remington 17 made in 1915
>102 year old 20 gauge work of art

>purposefully buy lead shot because any intruder will have lead poisoning until the day they die if they survive which is unlikely since this shotgun is 4+1 semi auto
Don't give it a nice stock. Get a stock and age it, you might have to send it off to have it done. Google how to artificially age wood. The poor finish of the metal with an aged looking stock would make for a good looking piece.
I read that Ithaca 37 stocks are a direct replacement. You might be able to find an old beat up m37 stock that would look good on it.

Probably could get a better deal by hunting around on EBay, but this is quick and easy.

use buck.
shit question but what happens if you use it without a stock

You'd probably hurt your hand a little because of all the metal edges jamming into you.
But not much otherwise.

No offense, but a lot of people on this board have a greatly distorted view how how much shotguns kick.
>That'll break your wrist!
Sure it will, bud.

eh, it just feels like a light punch in the shoulder with a 12 gauge. you'd be fine.

All else fails you can put a wood nub on it as a pistol grip. They aren't exactly rocket science.

step one acquire Ithaca 37 stock step 2 buy buckshot faggot. 4 buck less.

I straight up couldnt find buck shot or slugs I was so disappointed with my sporting goods store. They only had buck shot fot 16 gauge to 12 gauge. Only target and bird shot for 20 gauge.
Goddammit.

you know the thing you are posting on, you know the internet? where you likely will have to find the stock on? Yeah order some.

>Remington 17
>"semi-auto"
Why is there a pump? Also get some #4 or even 00 buck, birdshot is nowhere near as effective.
My 1951 Wingmaster, "30 full choke barrel, 4+1. Shitty phone pic doesn't do it justice, but it had old flaking shellac I sanded off and stained with Danish Oil. $250 at a pawn shop.
