Almost showed my power level today talking with a coworker:
>Talking about a recent purchase
>anon pipes up and says he's almost finished with his "build"
>genuinely curious as to what he's got
>tells me he's got a custom built AR, turns out it's a spikes and psa frakengun that he somehow payed $600 for
>shows me a 40 dollar red dot, mounted at the end of his rail at the 9 o'clock position
>only iron sights on top
>I ask anon if he's gonna put anything on top
>"I just bought a super powerful scope"
>for $80
>calls charging handle "the cocker"
Anybody have similar stories?

Cringe stuff?
> walking into SXSW Maker or some such event
> bringing LEGO guns with me because I'm part of the Austin TexLUG group, although if you ask them, they might say otherwise (was 17 at the time)
> just had wisdom teeth surgery 2 days prior
> my dad's trying to make sure that I don't point the guns at people and that I carry them safely.
> he thinks I'm too out of it thanks to the painkillers
> makes me hand my LEGO guns over to my brothers
> one immediately puts his finger on the trigger and starts sweeping everyone with it
> this is fucking Austin
> people are panicking
> I tell him to point it down or up, never at people and he almost drops it
> mfw I have to swipe one of my LEGO guns out of my brother's hand because he was doing all the things my dad thought I might do
I have more, not just LEGO. That was the first thing that came to mind. Also, just to note, the LEGO gun I handed to my brother was a full-sized, proper color, proper shape MA5B replica. It looked like the actual rifle from Halo - you'd have to be within about 10 feet to see clearly that it was LEGO. I fooled several gun owners - and competent ones, at that - with it on multiple occasions.

Oh, you weren't kidding.
That's actually kickass anon, do they function? You could make something with power functions XL motors and some rubber bands.

Trigger pulls, bolts rack, but haven't been able to get anything to shoot. I don't have the money or resources to set up some kind of compresssed air system, and I couldn't get the bolt to strike the brick with enough force to propel it.
However, after watching District 9, I'm considering trying to make something alien so I can make a massive flywheel blaster.

The FAL update was just beefing up the reciver, moving the carrying handle, and trying to make sure it could charge from the other side.
I also have a spaceship and a humvee if anyone wants to see those
Other side of the L1A1/FAL

Offtopic but what the hell do they give you in 'murrica for wisdom teeth removal? I've had all 4 removed and just had some anesthetic injected directly into the gums and was fit to drive home right after every time.
>>34318307
They injected some form of knockout stuff into my arm, IDK what. I told them I was 150 lbs, I was 175 lbs, they gave me the dose for a 160lb kid. I was like 60% awake and able to sense pain if I tried hard enough.
The painkiller drugs afterwards were what knocked me out. They had me on some prescription-strength painkillers for 2 weeks post-op that pretty much numbed everything and made motor control and facial expressions sluggish.
>>34318307
they put me completely out for mine. It is sooo much better this way, for speed of the surgery, and like 80% reduced swelling. Also faster recovery time
>>34318501
that costs a gorrilion dollars more though
