"De Wapenhandelinghe van Roers, Musketten ende Spiesen" by Jacob de Gheyn. Interesting manual on weapons of the time. Kinda amusing that alot of it is "don't get your match-wick where it shouldn't and blow up" as well as "don't muzzle-sweep your buddy in the rank in front of you. Excellent illustrations.

Yeah, I love the transitional period were guns were widespread but armor and melee weapons were still in use. This contrast was especially visible in Eastern Europe, where guns coexisted with bows, chainmail and battle axes.

I wonder if a catapult/trebuchet was used side by side with a canon.
The therm bullet proof came from that period as well.
On newly forged and built armors with steel plate there was always a dent somewhere, as proof that it got shot point blank and didnt get punctured.
