>change every single part. call it perfection

Every time I see these Glock threads I am reminded how garbage they are.

Its like modding a Hi-point to the point where there is literally nothing left of the original gun and then saying Hi-points are amazing.

>>
>>34311843
I get that you're creating these threads to ironically point out that people like to customize their glocks and they therefore cannot be "perfection" to those people out of the box. And the implication is that other brands do come with better features out of the box, and so are closer to perfection. However most people who do these mods would still take a modded glock over a polymer hk/fn/sig/cz whatever, whether modded or stock, because glocks have the best capacity to size/weight ratio and all the other differences can be addressed by the aftermarket. There is nothing they have that a glock owner could not get if they wished. However you can't cut the height, width, and weight of a p320 down to glock 19 levels and keep the same capacity for instance.

Can you even get guns?
>>
Here's my non biased opinion on Glock, and I'm by no means a fanboy or anything like that.
I recently got into guns, and after having shot a few times in the past, I decided to buy my own. After some research, I decided to buy a Glock 19 Gen 4 from Fred Meyer in the state of WA. Here's my input:
The good: Reliable, I've put over 1000 rounds of all types of ammo through without a single FTF or FTE
Easy to take apart and clean
Doesn't need a lot of maintenance really
33 round mags are neat
The bad: Sights aren't very good
Ugly
Brass to face
BRASS TO FACE
So I put in an aftermarket extractor which reduced the problem mostly, but didn't completely eliminate it. I find the heaver ammo extracts nicely compared to lighter (115g and below).
All in all it's not a bad gun at all. Price was reasonable. I won't claim the gun is perfect by any means but I don't regret the purchase. The whole "Glock perfection" thing is basically a result of Glock marketing and customer service, which is excellent. Glock fanboys shouldn't trigger you though, there are lots of handguns out there and you're free to use and enjoy whatever you want.
Now currently looking for a 1911 to add to my collection.

What are the real big differences between Gen 4 and Gen 3?

Are there aftermarket custom slides available for Gen 4 yet?

I emailed P80, the guys who make the PF940 and PF940C 80% glock frames that you can finish yourself. I asked them if they are going to make a Gen 4 compatible 80% frame and they said they aren't going to because of patent stuff:

>Unfortunately not any time real soon. Mostly because of all the changes that were made to that gen 4 but also as glock still has the patents on them preventing such a thing.
>Thanks!

I really wanted to do a PF940 80% build, but I don't want to miss out on any slide/trigger/action improvements that come with the Gen 4 parts. I also am afraid of parts obsolescence if I do a PF940C with Gen 3 slide/barrel etc. build.

Also what is the best upgrade glock trigger?

Do ETS glock magazines work with Glock factory extensions? Anyone know what a G19 or a PF940C looks like with an ETS 22 round magazine with a +2 extension on it?
How about an ETS 17 round magazine with a +2 extension?

>What are the real big differences between Gen 4 and Gen 3?
Gen 4 has dual-spring recoil spring assys, better grip texture, enlarged mag release, and interchangeable backstraps (with the "medium" backstrap being the same trigger reach as a Gen3 gun), and comes with 3 mags instead of 2.

>Also what is the best upgrade glock trigger?
NY1 trigger spring and 25¢ trigger job

>Do ETS glock magazines work with Glock factory extensions?
Yes, but who cares?
Do you have a bunch of +2 extensions lying around that you'd prefer to use instead of just buying bigger ETS mags (which are categorically less expensive than Glock OEM mags)?
>>
>>34317027
>Gen 4 has dual spring recoil spring assys
What exactly does this do?
Other than the frame differences what else is there? Like I said I'm considering an 80% frame anyway so I'm really more curious about mechanical/slide differences between generations.

What if I want to spend a bunch of money on a trigger just for fun? Then what?

I am interested in 24 round magazines created from 22 round ETS plus factory glock +2 for aesthetic reasons. That is why I asked if anyone knows what it looks like.

Neat. Other than that not much real mechanical difference?

Do you guys think glocks are going to go by the wayside in a few years to be replaced by P320s?

Anyone shot a P320 side by side with a Glock?
>>
>>34317572
>Do you guys think glocks are going to go by the wayside in a few years to be replaced by P320s?
No.
The MHS contract is obv. a win for SIG, but handguns are so irrelevant to the duties of most soldiers that the Army could start issuing SAAs again and it wouldn't make that much difference.
USSOCOM has basically standardized on Glock 19s, ditto the FBI, and of course Glocks are still a solid majority of LEO sidearms in the US.
We've basically hit Peak Handgun and nothing will seriously disrupt the current market that isn't a dramatic innovation that blows pistols as we know them out of the water in the same way that Glocks blew K-frames out of the water back in the 80s-90s.

It's a TBRCI micro comp; it's functionally equivalent to the KKM comp, but has normal threads so it can be retrofitted to a threaded barrel you already have.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IaZfS4Mj4o

You should have gone with the Shield RMS; it's lighter, has better glass, can have its battery changed without removing it fron the gun, and cowitnesses with normal sights.

Yes, but you'll have about 3/4" of recoil spring exposed due to the shorter dust cover on the 19 frame.
A better solution is to cut a 17 grip to accept 19 mags.

Just get some nice Hogue wrap-around grips or something. Way better.

>Now currently looking for a 1911 to add to my collection.

Solid choice, Anon. The 1911 is a classic.
My two cents worth on 1911s - price matters, up to a point. There's a big difference in quality between a $400 1911 and a $800 1911. But beyond $800-$900 or so, you see greatly diminishing returns. You honestly probably wouldn't notice the difference shooting a $900 1911 vs shooting a $1300 one.
Get yourself a nice Colt Military or something for around $800 or so.
You'll thank me later.
Edit: Arched vs flat mainspring housing. Depends on your hands, famalam. There is no 'better' one - ignore any and all claims to the contrary. You gotta hold 'em and see which fits better in your hand.
You'll know. You'll feel it.

Thoughts on these Six-Second mounts? I kinda wanna turn my OD frame Gen 3 G17 into a full-fun Operator machine pistol.

>Shield RMS
Damn that thing is sexy. Is it durable?
I can always return the RMR.
What sort of slide cuts does the Shield RMS need? Are you sure the shield RMS is better than the RMR?

Also are you sure that a Glock 17 slide and barrel will work on a 19 frame? Anyway to cover that bit of exposed recoil spring up?

>>34321657
It reminds me of ARs. You can get build a solid AR for $500, or one for $1500. Take your pick.

Is that an ETS 22 round mag or 17 round mag in the gun?
Regardless of which can you do me a huge favor and put a +2 extension on it then take another picture?

What sorts of magwell extensions are available for the G19?
Anyone know what magwell extensions fit the PF940C?

RMR should be here in 2-3 weeks. As soon as I sell the Sig I'm going to start making moves on a Glock.

Mixed reports on Shield durability.
If you could postpone your project a few months there would be more and better data; until then, the RMR is a known good setup.
If you were to go with a MOS Glock, you could switch freely between whatever optics tickled your fancy.

On further research, it turns out the 17 and 19 have significant frame differences and don not have interchangeable slides.

It's a 22-round mag; I have that one loaded with 20 rounds because 22-round mags, 50-round boxes of range ammo, and autism don't mix well.
Pic related is full.
I don't own any +2 extensions, so I can't help you with that.
That said, the Glock +2 extensions are a bit shit; they're well-known for popping off at inconvenient times and are composed of a set of parts that add up to nearly the cost of a new magazine, so even if they worked perfectly they wouldn't be worth it.

6sm is easier/faster to track the dot for rapid fire. I can easily remove the bullseye of a target while mag dumping. It's like cheating.
Milled slide is better for carry, though. You need cowitnessed irons to get the first shot out faster and in case of dot failure.
