Just bought a 10/22 and I'm probably gonna shoot her on Saturday.

I already have a Marlin XT-22 and a colt .22lr target pistol. I had a Marlin model 60 but Its all rusted to shit so I'll probably get a new one at some point. So anyway, .22lr appreciation thread.

I guess .17 hmr is welcome here too

The reset is what I find to be horrendous because the reset is really long. But I like the reset in general to be akin to shooting a single action; the pull should be shorter after the reset in my opinion.

>>
>>34306253
If you get a steel bull bbl, the cheaper route (about $100), it does make it a good bit heavier, but it's still only like 5.5lbs, the same as a lightweight AR. The carbon fiber and aluminum ones are just about the same weight as the original tapered bbl. even the steel bbl Still feels handy and shootable, but just heavier.

The biggest difference is these aftermarket bbls have a target chambers, so with match grade ammo, and skilled marksmanship, technically you should expect .75"-1" groups at 50yds.

Unsure if I want a scope or just a better zero magnification optic; iron sights are not an option due to the barrel not having provisions for a front sight.

savage mkii trrv or something, tactical stock w/o the rails. rws special, 4 star box.

5 shot groups at 50 yards. muh dick. I was first after the first round in a friendly shootout, scored 11s and 12s the next round to get 9th out of 50. fell apart in round 3, but I was first for a moment.

>>
>>34306844

Sent mine in. Took two weeks and I had it back. I think Que was another person that did the same work but he seems to have quit for now.

My other, older, 10/22 I ramped the bolt myself and it seemed to be more smooth and didn't choke on subsonic rounds as much.

If nothing else, I think the jeweling looks slick.

Marlin 880 was my First Real Gun.
My high-school buddy and I each had one. We would go into the woods, set up our old childhood toys and shoot at them. It was like a rite of passage.
Only now some of those toys would be worth more than the guns if we hadn't shot them to pieces. Oh well, can't put a price on memories.

I just picked up a Henry H001 .22 lever gun and a Walter p22. Shit is so cash. There's just a simple joy in shooting. 22s. I also love that you can blast through 500 rounds and it only costed $20.

>how do you guys like the magpul x-22 stock?
Mine
>>34306770
I replaced the stock because mine broke, it was the sort of cheesy plastic one, and the X-22 was the only one at the store. The stock can be converted from stock barrel to bull barrel which is pretty good. I really don't care for the Mlok but just holding it and shooting it is way better than stock. Plus it's adjustable.
>>
>>34309028
unscrew both and flip it over. or just paint over it.
be careful the metal used for the sights is quite shitty. if you force it it will crack

>>
>>34309515
i have a 702 tactical i got for free from a relative and it's a real piece of shit. seems like a lot of the problems are mag related though so maybe the normal version is better
>>
>>34309515
>>34309565
I have the precursor to the Mossberg 702, a Magtech 7022 (I guess Mossberg bought the company or something) but this thing is accurate as fuck with iron sights. I leave it behind the back door to plink squirrels and chipmunk fuckers.
>>
>>34308998

Got it at a closing Gander Mtn for 80 burger vouchers.

It's pretty solid, much more rigid than the stock...stock.

I like the wrist angle better; most of my rifles have pistol grips or thumbhole stocks so this is pretty comfortable for a "traditional" style stock.
>>
>>34305817
I bought one off a guy a while ago and I love it. Yes there should be plenty room for optic rails and whatnot, the entire top receiver is uncovered, the top cover piece of the stock begins at the back of the barrel.

>>34308984
This is true, but it's not so bad that it just falls apart on its own, if it gets a bump or a scrape it shows a lot more than in other kinds of stocks and can tend to go deeper.

Also here is my M1 10/22 and my most recent .22 acquisition. I plan on grabbing it a full stock as well so that I can swap between a trapper style rifle and a mare's leg depending on how I feel. I love .22's, I have five at the moment.
