Why doesn't Armalite sell a semi automatic version of the original AR-10?
For the same reason they don't sell AR-180s.
Because fuck you, that's why.

Not enough demand to justify the production costs.
>>34304899
because armalite doesn't exist anymore beyond its brand name

Why don't they sell THIS?
NEA up here in Ontario is going to start selling a modernized version of the AR-102. Not sure if you'll actually be able to import them into the US, though.

Canadian firearm companies are starting to make AR-180 components with the intent of making full-rifles eventually. Wouldn't be too odd for them to make scaled-up versions in .308 Win.

>make ar-18's in canada
>5 rounds only capacity
>banned from import to the united states
I'm failing to see how this was a good business decision.

AR-15 pistol magazines are available (10 rounds), as well as AR-15 magazines made for other rounds like .458 SOCOM and .50 Beowulf, both of which allow ~15 rounds to be lawfully used in them. Our gun laws are fucking stupid.
The Canadian market is pretty odd. A lot of models were banned by name back in the 90's, so guns like the XCR, VZ58 and a bunch of other really weird ones are pretty fucking common up here. The AR-180 was actually one of the most popular non-restricted semi-auto "black rifles" while it was still in production.

They changed that just recently. The .50 Beowulf mags are now pinned to two rounds for the .50 Beowulf. Thus you can only load 5 rounds of .223
