Don't mind me /k/
I'm just the most underrated ship in star wars
whoa there, wrong board. let me help you out
>>>/lgbtq/
If you say so.
>>34303226
>Lots of pew pew
>3 crew plus Astromech
>Still jobs harder than Tie fighters
I like it but its actual performance was lacking.
>>34303244
That looks dumb as fuck
>not going for the LAAT daddy
>>34303364
>Getting shot down with 36 cloned souls on board.
>>34303226
Literally the best ship in the GAR
Bitch please
>>34303279
>comparing 2 starfighters with vastly different roles and combat operations
ARC 170 had hyperdrive, long range sensors and the armament of a fucking bomber to perform deep strike and reconnaissance missions.
It was built to operate long range and deep into hostile sectors for days without the support of warships
>hyperdrive and heavy armor/shields cause I don't need battleship support to operate
>oversized main laser cannons that fuck up even capital ships
>2 rear tail guns to blast everyone off you're ass
>Can carry torpedoes AND bombs
>consumables for 5 days

Norra Wexley + R2D2 + C-3PO + Alliance Overhaul title + Push The Limit
Best build for an ARC-170.
One question. Why didn't republic capital ships have a tie fighter equivalent before the star of the clone wars? Or after fo that matter?
>>34303226
>>34303279
>>34303495
ARC-170 is basically the A-10 of the star wars universe
>>34303725
The rise of the Empire marked a move away from small, highly trained and highly technological militaries to absolutely massive quantity over quality types, like the droid armies of the CIS. The Empire just used meat bags instead of droids.
>>34303226
>ship
>obviously a starfighter
>>34303364
Spacehinds are best
>>34303824
But the republic had clones. You don't get much more disposable than an army of guys meant to die.
>>34303866
actually you do, the clones are a resource drain from birth, and very highly trained, and genetically absed on what passes for a superior combatant in-universe. It's easier to condemn clones to life of military slavery because they're a manufactured demographic, it's an easy pill for a galatic multi-racial senate to swallow if the guys dying fighting for you aren't your, or anybody's, guys except the factories, whether they're made of meat or not
>>34303866
the Clone Wars clones were VERY expensive per unit, and were designed to punch above their weight in combat due to long and extensive training over their lifetimes.
They were cloned to insure quality, not cloned just to fill boots.
>>34303841
>transport vehicles heading for target while enemy air is active even with fucking allied spaceships in the AO
there is so much fail here i dont even know where to start
>>34303226
>the prequels are no longer cannon
>>34303923
They are tho.
>>34303911
And, on top of that, you can see the exact opposite approach with the Sparti Tubes in the Thrawn series- clones are of fighting age within a few weeks, are completely subservient and fearless, but are also completely lacking in initiative and survival instinct. They'd be made in massive quantities and used for repetitive, simple jobs aboard starships, or as blaster fodder for ground warfare.
... Man, the Star Wars setting is an absolute shithole.
