Orthodox Christian here, the Mormons usually get the hint if you tell them you have no interest in converting save a few old folks. People drink on Sunday, but the liquor stores aren't open but we have a decent bar scene, though liquor laws are retarded like a .05 driving limit coming into effect soon.
A few tips, drivers here are complete fucks so be careful on the roads, just try get sauce once you don't need to love it but it is everywhere here, if youre in slc the Kearns/west valley area can get a little rough so there's that.

I'm not sure how long you have to be in state to get in state tuition, maybe 2 years if you are with the university. I like the Wilderness med program here because the classes only have a few people in it. There was only 4 other people in the swiftwater rescue course I took last semester and it was incredibly fun due to how close we are to the outdoors and rivers. I got my WFR to add on to my Advanced through the NOLS course that the U offers, and that was pretty nice. Just talk to the department head or some advisors if you need help.

Reason I ask is because I was offered a park job in Zion. My brother in Law Is a Park Ranger and apparently they've been low. I currently live in Yuma Arizona and it's fucking gay here.

You're a paramedic, so there are tons of opportunities to get work. I've heard complaints about good cross though. Most fire departments are willing to hire plain paramedics though, as well as offer free seasonal training. If you know how to ski it is also easy to find work as a patroller in a resort.

If you're bent on being north then there's places around Park City and Bear Lake that are still close to neature. I'm just saying that Utah County Mormons are judgy. I'm literally counting down the days till I ETS right now because I can't wait to move my family back there -- and none of us are Mormon anymore. It's a great place to live. It's totally gorgeous and /out/ and /k/ as you can get. Utah is legit the most beautiful state in the US.

Also, once the economy collapses or Civil War 2.0 breaks out, Utah is where you're gonna wanna be.
