Home-clearing is a little too paranoid, and being that anal about your draw hand is kinda dumb because in a situation wherein I'd have to draw my weapon, any possible thing I could be holding short of a baby is easily worth me instantly dropping it to make my draw, which would take no extra time to do.

You're also probably being way too anal about your ammo. Think about it, if at every six-month interval all rounds you dispense of fire fine, then obviously they last that long no problem and will last longer. Ammo can go for years assuming it's kept well enough so as not to corrode.

Situational awareness is a good trait though.

I count my rounds to the point where I know where I'm at one a 60 round drum, I go to the range to "break in" new clothes to see how well I can draw and whatnot, and I keep the first casing I fire of every new caliber

I get oddly attached to inanimate objects and have this thing for symbolism and sentimental value. I cant explain it other then that. Like, I have a pistol I bought at 21 that is a total POS pot metal and I want to throw it out, but part of me cant. Too many memories with it and I cant part with it. Or the other day I was playing halo 3, which I havent done in years, and I had to make a night of it. Clearing your house like macaulay culkin every time a car backfires down street doesn't make you an operator, it means you have no fucking clue what it sounds like when someone's breaking into your house. Not to mention, clearing your house is not what you want to do with a home invader anyways, its what police and military do with back up on site wearing body armor. If there is an intruder in your home you stake out a corner and wait for them to come to you.

I am autistic about being prepared and explosives.

>2 hangers in closet. One with complete set of fatigues, other with Go Bag.

This on top of the trigger disapline on random objects, head on swivel, maintaing distnce from strangers, avoiding crowds, avoiding back to windows and doors, and carrying enough EDC to fight, fix, or blow myself out of any situation.

Has helped me mutiple times and GF does not mind, so long as I lead way into house and cuddle her and don't sleep in gear at least 2 nights during the week.
