Been a while since I've seen one of these around so I figure I should make one.
Lacking
-Axe (looking for recommendations)
-Water purification system (one in mail)
-gas mask
Gas masks in a bug out kid are mostly a meme.

You should swap that sleeping pad for an inflatable one.

That's the plan, I just need to prioritize what I need to buy first so I can save cash. Inb4 poor college student

You number 1 priority is a gun.

I have an AR15 rifle. Not pictured as it's currently at my brothers house.

Then more ammo and/or a pistol should be your priority.

Any axe will work really. Just avoid the cheap shit.
Don't buy a gas mask, get a full face respirator and various filters of different types. Get to the point where it's easy to reach and you can put it on on under 5 seconds.
Some light armor never hurts to have but don't go all out.
A multitool
Hiking solar panel to charge your light batteries and other shit. A luxury but incredibly nice to have
I've got a milsurp Swiss camp hatchet in mine. I've had it for a few years, it's been really great to me.
Cheap, too.

For axes, look at Husqvarna, either the Traditional or the Hatchet. If you can find the Carpenters axe, take a hard look at it. It's really good for doing some more detail work in addition to small-medium axe work, but not everyone likes it.
