Anyone who follows these tests should be pretty familiar with what can happen. A grain can get stuck under a key control and instantly cause failures. I've dropped my glock 17 on muddy ground and had it stop because I believe debris got under the slide catch.

Guns are machines and any machine can stop working. The more sealed, the less likely something will happen like that, but it can happen to any platform.
