Trying to figure out how to install my Geissele gas block.

I get I have to dimple it and everything, but what about the actual alignment of the port? Simply just flip it 180 to verify the gas port is aligned, screw down the set screws to imprint where to drill, and just go at with a #25 bit.

Use a jig from brd engineering

A taper screw centers the jig on the gas port, and pilot holes on the bottom of the jig ensure your dimples will be perfect 180° from the port

And remember that dimples arent to prevent gas block movement, they're for aligning the block. If you want to secure it, have it cross pinned.

It's at a friends house for storage (I live in the barracks.) It's like you said, a poverty build. And Faxon Firearms where I bought the barrel had those $99 superlative arms gas blocks. And I checked out youtube reviews and determined they were good. I like it because it can act as a normal adjustable block that restricts the gas or it can exhaust the excess gas so it does not affect and change your bullet velocity. The company says it supposedly runs cleaner too since the excess gas doesn't go to the chamber but that seems negligible.

im pretty much set on getting a primary arms 1-6x scope. ill be shooting out to 300 yards at static targets. the acss reticule is $225 shipped but the KISS chevron (which i prefer) is $290ish after shipping.
