Spice and Wolf is required /k/ lit
I recommend "Blood Meridian" as a good western novel. Super good at portraying the brutality of the Wild West times.

Metro 2033 and Metro 2034 are pretty good.

>Storm of Steel
>All Quiet on the Western Front
>A Farewell to Arms
>Flyboys
>The Things They Carried
>In the Lake of the Woods
>Red Badge of Courage
Etc etc
The Dark Tower Series (it's good and makes you really wish that Stephen King hadn't become a fucking libtard after his accident cause he can write a damn good action sequence)
Command and Control (because some other /k/ommando recommended it a while back and it's really good )
Iliad and Odyssey (if you can get bask everyone, their family, where they come from, and the boat they were on..it's a damn good story)
Art of War( trite I know, but actually has good advise you can apply to your daily life if your not a sperg)
48 Laws of Power (a compilation of all the books on being good at accumulating power)
The Millionaire Next Door (or how to afford your fucking expensive hobby!)

Would this be enjoyable regardless?

Can't recommend Starship Troopers enough. Only one on the Commandant's list that also falls under the genre of Sci-Fi.
When the "action," parts of the book are the least compelling, then you know you've got a good one.

Try to imagine a world similar to Ghost in the Shell, but more broken. Everything is weaponized, and everything has fallen apart. The story follows a couple of old operators traveling in an old APC they smuggled out of the previous conflict. There is currently 3 books out that take place in this universe. This is the first one.

Also, look up "Guns of the South" by Harry Turtledove for a fun read.

It's about gun control. The story's fiction and the main character is kind of an author expy but the points it makes are decent. There's both a gay and a straight rape scene if that gets you interested.

Shit taste detected
I read count of monte cristo when my life was shit and I was facing criminal charges.
Read Something wicked this way comes, Fast and fancy revolver shooting, and Walden (boring). Currently reading the Stand uncut.
Probably gonna get some loompomatic or paladin press books next.
