I have the P229 Enhanced Elite. Has amazing grips and is built like a fucking tank and with their upgraded trigger it is smooth as hell in single action. Picked it up for around $900 so shop around if that's the route you go.

I say this as someone who owns two of them. They're just not worth the money they command.

Don't look into "quality" but application. What use is a P226/P229 when you want a smaller and less bulky pistol for conceal carry? A P229 is a great gun to shoot but it is a potential PITA to carry 24/7 365 for most people. A better "one gun" would be a Glock 19, just as capable as a 226/229 but much smaller, lightweight and concealable.

And you won't only buy 1 handgun and 1 shotgun. Trust me. You just won't.
