One had a sticky bolt that would get stuck all the way to the rear if you pulled it back and the bolt assembly would jump out if you racked it without the cover on. I don't remember what was wrong with the other, I want to say the same thing. These things are supposed to be rather decent for the price but he got burned on two of them back to back, fortunately his dad is the kind of guy to never go shooting but owns 15+ guns so it doesn't matter.

Most SKS have some roughly chiseled wood in the magwell that needs a quick sanding to allow after market mags to function. It's extremely common.
