What is /k/'s opinion on the JLD Enterprises PTR series rifles? Personal experiences? Anecdotes? Performance? My personal question is why are they liked so much on this board? I have never read anything negative about these rifles; only glowing reviews. Any reason for this?
>My personal question is why are they liked so much on this board? I have never read anything negative about these rifles
Because they're cheap, my dude. Its the nugget or SKS phenomenon all over again, applied to .308 semis.
That said, they aren't bad rifles, but grossly overhyped.

>why are they liked so much on this board
Because they're simple to operate and clean, cheap to own, abundant in spare parts, and aren't fussy about ammo, so you can run shitty steel case russian all day.
Kind of a meme, but there you go. Only problem so far is that they're awkward to hold if you're a manlet and cumbersome to manipulate on a two-point sling.

Good and reasonably accurate rifles for fightan, huntan, and sportan. I own one and like it greatly. Shoots much softer than a what you think a battle rifle would. Eats any ammo you give it, but it chews brass and throws it into orbit so get a buffer and brass catcher if you reload .308.

Doesn't the fluted chamber ruin the brass for reloading?
/k/ loves things that are cheap enough to buy on part time burger flipping income. It never ceases to make me smile when people start defending HiPoints

They're good G3 clones. Just about the best you can get right now outside of buying an HK91. Good customer service too.

It's harder on the brass than most chambers but usually not enough to prevent reloading. I'd say when I shoot about 9/10 cases are reloadable and the last one is damaged more by the edge of the ejection port than the flutes. You can get a port buffer to protect the brass from that.

No, it's smacking into the lip of the ejection port that really hurts the brass.

>$900-$1100 rifles that shoot 308 and take HK parts
>Cheap
Where did /k/ suddenly get money from?
>>34273852
There's more to being cheap than the cost of the actual rifle. Mags are like 3$ at most
>>34273893
You mean $3 at least. They're definitely cheap but not quite that cheap for the most part. What good do cheap mags do if you can't already afford the rifle/ammo?
>>34273852
it's cheap for a .308 battle rifle, which is what he said in the first place
>>34273852
It's cheap for anything that isn't an AR or centshit.
Also we grew up.
