RhAF Cessna Skymaster along w/ carried ordinance
Waffen-SS Commando Otto Skorzeny and former Brandenburger Adrian von Folkersam (Brandenburgers were folded up into the ss-jagdverbände at Skorzeny's request ) Inspecting Budapest after quelling a Warsaw-like uprising. Kidnapping Horthy's son caused all talks of a negotiated peace with the Soviets to crumble and Hungary fought until the end.
These two would later lead Operation Gref, but after seeing so many of his friends get executed, Adrian could not handle it. disillusioned by special forces work, he got a posting to a regular unit and died fighting in the East.
Following the Finnish dfeclaration of war against Germany and total German withdrawl back to Norway, the last German units crossing the Finnish/Norwegian borders left this sign behind.
It reads: "as a thanks for NOT demonstrating a brotherhood of arms".
Waffen-SS officer and his Wehrmacht (Heer) XO training a Luftwaffe flight crewman combat training as the British are landing over Arnhem. When one considers the Wilhelm Bittrich managed to make a cohesive fighting force out of demoralized and scattered Waffen-SS men and Heer soldiers fresh from escaping the Faise pocket, Luftwaffe crews, German voluntary labour (Men unfit for service, but instead assigned to labour units) and Railway workers,
It really paints a different picture which people usually paint as Monty dropped paratroopers on SS Panzer divisions.
Italian infantry encampment near Tripoli during the Italo-Turkish War.
The pride of the Italian Navy Roma being introduced to a first generation radio guided anti-ship bomb following their attempt to defect. It had a full crew on board.

American rescued a wounded and starving German trapped between the lines in the Hurtgen forest
>>34266487
The hell that was Hurtgen, this was a coming thing to do for both sides. The Americans, unable to believe their commanders thought this was a good place to attack, the Germans were just as shocked by the waste and hell the Generals were putting Americans through.

viel zu sehr den Tod, um jemals zu sterben und vergessen zu werden.

I find those photos of the very early use of helicopters absolutely fascinating - Korea and contemporary conflicts are that brilliant and unique mash of WW2 and modern equipment, uniforms and tactics.
Plus old helicopters look weeeeird.

A Native Canadian named Tommy Prince.Tommy Prince went to war in the last war, serving with distinction in the Devil's Brigade, including being medaled by King George
He was wounded later, and suffering from a bum knee, he reenlisted when Canada announced sending an intervention force into Korea.
I wish I could say he came home a hero, and lived a long full life like this man who had no reason whatsoever to fight in either war, but did deserved. But he didn't.

>Dallgow-Döberitz
Between 29 July and 5 August 1936 1,500 members of the Army of Africa were accordingly transported to mainland Spain in a bold airlift led by Junkers transport planes supplied by Germany. The fascist régime of the Kingdom of Italy provided Savoia-Marchetti SM.81 bombers to provide air cover for merchant ships carrying 3,000 soldiers and equipment from Morocco on 5 August. Thereafter daily flights continued until about 8,000 Moroccans and legionaries, with supporting artillery, were gathered at Seville.

Yeah, it's from a film. I forget the name.
The sole remaining Japanese battleship, Nagato, alongside the most powerful battleship still afloat, USS Missouri, during the Japanese surrender of Yokosuka Naval Base.

Here, have some of Russia's finest marching to support their brothers against Japs in the Russo-Japanese war.
