The U.S. military is fine, it's their job to win battles and they do. Throughout U.S. history contact with the enemy has been generally really fucking one sided with a few exceptions.

The problem is the people of America pushing their politicians to press unrealistic goals onto U.S./NATO military officers. The American people and politicians in their infinite hubris manage to completely misunderstand war and the nature of the commitment required to win.

The soldiers will is strong but there is no civilian will power to back it up. While enemy fighters are inferior to NATO troops middle eastern civilians have more will power than western ones.
