47, because the round is great for defensive ranged shooting. I would never choose to get caught up in a fight, I'd be breaking contact as much as possible. Also the round has better hunting ammo, so it could be used to take a better variety of game and do it with projectiles meant for the task.

expanding: for SHTF I'd want minimum weight and maximum accuracy. You have to plan for the worst case scenario which means I'd be a one man army, with all my shit on my back and in that case every shot fired would have to count. so I'd go with a lightweight match AR build.

Just tryna answer the question as it pertains to me. If i wanted a fighting rifle the 74 is a much better tool for that task. set my irons for a 400 meter zero and pop on whatever low magnification scope I can mount to the side rail. Taking the scope on or off depending on my needs.

Got a sweet deal on it used couldn't have been more that 500 rounds through it but the caveat the wood was soiled and an agent of some sort turned the finish into a tacky mess. I must have spent 6 months looking for a set then finally said f it and Russian it up. I must have seen 3-4 NOS sets the last 3 months though oh well
