Hey so this deal is going on at the academy near me but I have never really followed or handled a Taurus.
Is Taurus a good brand of pistol/ is the PT111 a good carry pistol?
Is this a good buy in your opinion?

If it's all you can afford, sure. It's honestly an okay pistol. Trigger is weird but outside of that, nothing wrong with it.

I was at a Bass Pro once and one of the guys behind the counter described Taurus's as '200$ paperweights', but its a Bass Pro so take that as you will.
The rough rider however is awesome, functions greats, have put a couple round rounds through it so far and love it to death. Everything about it from operation to cleaning is easy as pie, only thing I'm not in love with is the sights, but I still hit red no problem.
I'd try to do some research on the Taurus elsewhere on the internet if you can't get help here. Good luck man.

The PT111 is the pistol Taurus actually got right. Most of their guns are shit, but this one for whatever reason is actually pretty good.

Taurus is a shit company with a shit reputation.
That being said, SOME of their products are ok. Generally speaking, you should stay away from them. Their Beretta clone called the PT92 is pretty good.

I own a pt845 I take out to the range for fun, but its hammer fired. Hasnt jammed yet and is fairly accurate
