Probably impossible to know. My guess is they're headed towards someone they know. Considering their pictures I'd guess Augusta because it has the highest potential for white trash, but they could think it's simply easier to hide out in ATL.

Depends on the state, but killing the wrong man because of mistaken identity is a first-degree murder. In most parts of US, that means "25 to life" sentence for the bounty hunters.

Last April a group of bounty hunters killed the wrong man in Clarksville, Tennessee. All bounty hunters involved in the killing were charged with "first-degree felony murder", thee counts of "attempted second-degree murders", and several other offenses.

Yes, they would likely to be in serious trouble.

There might be some variation in local state laws, but in most cases bounty hunters are allowed to use lethal force only in self-defense. In the Charlestown incident the bounty hunters killed an unarmed passenger at back seat of a car, so even if the passenger had been the correct target, it could still be considered as a murder.

But you can't just shoot them. As far as I'm aware there are laws about this sort of thing. That's why usually the people who go after bounties are professional bounty hunters who know all the legalese
