.177 air rifle is more than enough to kill pigeons to 60 yards. With a silencer it will not disturb anyone. I have killed hundreds with mine.

Gonna bump this thread with .177 airgun kills of mine.

First off, if you're going to buy a pellet gun then you should buy a piston driven gun so you don't have to piss all your money away into CO2 canisters.

Secondly, for the love of god do not shoot this at the bottom of your solar panels and make sure there's nothing behind the pigeon that you wouldn't mind putting a hole in when you fire.

Thirdly, ten seconds of googling show that there are a couple other strategies you can employ - like putting wire around your solar panels to keep the shits out in the first place, or just reaching up in there with a roof rake regularly to fuck up their nests. Add lead pellets to taste, and they should get the message and fuck off eventually.

I'd be a little scared no matter what I used, you'll have to pick your shots.
My 1300fps gamo with predator polymags is a deadly combo. Pic related is a 22cal and 177 cal.
Very accurate pellet, and made for minimal air resistance slowing it down in flight, and expands very well through an airgun that's 1000fps rated. Don't even bother with a weaker gun, it's just a crappier pointed pellet through them. It may be FAR too overpriced to plink with, but for hunting, it's worth it.

Are you actually going to get good enough hit pigeons (while missing your expensive stuff)? Are you going to be there enough to change their behavior?

Piston/spring are good small game getters but they do require a different hold than regular firearms (artillery hold) and the recoil is weird. Resting these is not a best practice because of the vibrations.

Look at multipump pneumatics for a rifle that's strong enough and used the same as a regular firearms.

Nah, just russian surplus. He was stealing pheasant food with a few others and I was sick of how fast it was disappearing.
So I stuck the food up on the steep hill going up to the driveway so I'd have a backstop.
Pic related is the exit, all blood in the first pic shot out from his mouth the moment he was shot. He didn't bleed a drop otherwise.
