It's not a regret over all potential ban, but the now very unlikely repeal of a ban already in place. Scalose was an HPA cosponsor, a bill that was going to be heard today, but has now been cancelled in favor of gun control legislation.

Basically when leftists can't win, they cheat, or something like that. The bill it was attached to was also going to ease access on hunting in general.

Does anyone else find it funny and ironic that the first group to use guns in the past 20 years against a perceived tyranny was the Burn-outs?
>>
This Congressman is going to recover, and he won't be a Gabbie Gifford hypocrite ("look at me on the shooting range!" photo op followed by "guns are evil" rhetoric) either. He's going to say this is an example of a criminal nutjob who shouldn't have a gun (will be interesting to see if he was already prohibited from having a gun anyway, further proving gun control bullshit doesn't work). He will affirm Americans have a 2nd Amendment right to own a firearm, including a semiautomatic rifle, and that if this jackass had stabbed him with a sharpened butter knife it doesn't mean he thinks butter knives or knife sharpeners need to be banned, just like if the asshole hit him with a car he doesn't think cars need to be banned. The Democrats will whine about how "but muh cars are regulated by the DMV" and some smart staffer will point out that if an unlicensed crazy person wants to get access to a car it isn't very damned hard at all despite said regulation/locks/licensing/etc. Some liberal will also point out that the damage would have been limited if the shooter had been limited to smaller magazine capacity, to which a smart staffer will point out that someone intent on causing harm with a vehicle might choose a large truck over a SmartCar.

I live on Long Island. There's noticeable support for either splitting off upstate or having home rule, unfortunately for me most of the time it's proposed it leaves LI firmly imprisoned by the city.

People upstate can sometimes get away with openly taking out their noncompliant guns innawoods and the local PDs don't care, just the state troopers (Governor's personal gestapo) to worry about. Down here on LI it's not really an option. I can't say how many people actually just didn't register salty weapons but I know many who have made their ARs "fixed mag" in a way that can be undone in 2 minutes.

Conspiracy incoming

The left saw the HPA going up and would most likely be passed, so they needed something to cancel it, they shot some of the people who were to vote on it, then once the media realized people are starting to blame the left over it, they needed another incident to take away attention, but not before they mention that guns need to be banned from the Gov of the state.
The left needed a scapegoat to get the HPA postponed, and are trying to get GOP to go against the 2nd by showing that they can be deadly
and you can tell that the shooter had never fired a gun before, he was probably just given it by some shadowman and told to shoot, 50-100 bullets and only 4-5 hits, and in random places like the hip and leg, none in center mass
the left needed some disposable no-name to do this, someone no one would have guessed, a "normal" person to show that the tyrannical government is turning the average American to shoot at "tyrannical" politicians.

kek, plenty do. California just passed a few more measures thanks to the "pro-gun" left, IL will probably pass its UBC measure after this shooting and RI is going forward with its magazine ban.

Off the top of my head, we've had people shoot a couple cops in Vegas and bring a Gadsen flag along/talk about trying to start a revolution, that sniper who went after police officers last year, and possibly that other sniper who went after police officers the year before within the past 4 years. I don't think there's a year that goes by in the US without someone shooting someone else to fight tyranny.

Ugh. This whole thing makes me sick. I can practically hear the anti-gun crowd mentality that went into the making of this guy. The ordinary anti-gunners ARE the extremists; they're gun grabbers plain and simple.

"The Republicans aren't going to embrace common sense gun legislation until white conservatives are the ones getting shot." That's the attitude they have, with their simplistic understanding of the way public policy works. The left has gotten increasingly dangerous with inciting people with their "drastic measures are justified because conservatives are literally Hitler" rhetoric. Inflating this with mass media reporting of alleged "hate crimes" that later turn out to be complete fucking hoaxes is a big part of the problem.

If he's a Bernie supporter, he apparently either disregarded Bernie's "no assault weapons" and "no high capacity magazines" rhetoric, OR he may have chosen to use those things to make a twisted point.

This. As pissed off as i am that the HPA IS Temporarily postponed, this leftist moron finally used the 2nd Amendment for what is was designed for; showing politicians that they are accountable to the people of the United States.
I disagree with that cuck's belief system on many points, but i also have to give him props for reminding us of the supremecy of the armed citizen over bureaucrats.
The people should never be scared of their government, governments must always be afraid of the people.

As pissed as I am about the left REEEEEing all the time, the fact that a Bern-Out from a cuck-state can use the 2nd for its intended purpose and put fear into congress gives me an odd feeling of hope inside.

This is exactly how I feel.

Congress is has been corrupted beyond repair by money, PACs and lobbyists. They don't serve the people anymore, they serve whoever helps them win re-election. This goes for both parties.

While this guy's political beliefs certainly aren't close to mine, it gave me a warm tingly feeling that someone used their second amendment rights the way the founders intended: against a corrupt government that is no longer for the people, by the people.

>now you leftists need to understand reality, tha your fee fees aren't ground for shit like this

Not a leftist, and I agree. The point Im making is that from a constitutional and natural rights perspective, if citizens feel they genuinely are being oppressed by the govt, they're in the clear morally to do this.

I wont lie, Im not pleased with the current reversal on climate policy (I had stock in Tesla and was hoping to make bank on model 3) and am worried about the infrastructure bill, I THINK THE LEFT IS RETARDED FOR THINKING THIS CONSTITUTES LETHAL ACTION.

I dont want to take the convo off track so if you think the current govt has done no wrong, thats totally cool and we'll agree to disagree.

Guns are fucking awesome, and I hop these congressmen and the LEOs survive, esp so we can get the HPA running.

2a just protects right to keep and bear arms. only the declaration of independence talks about the right to rebellion

the 2a protects the capacity to wage rebellion, it does not legalize it. you must accept that true rebellion would be a willful act of "treason" against a govt - just like the colonials did against the crown.

that's why anyone supporting attempted murder of a duly elected rep or thinking this is some proper exercise of the 2a is fuckin retarded. these reps havent done anything tyrannical (by modern standards at least) and were playing a fuckin baseball game, not actively planning a declaration of martial law and a suspension of constitutional rights

i'm far from a bootlicker, and a lot of our true constitutional rights are being infringed every day (ie automatic rifles illegal) - but what happened here was not preceded by some eloquent justification or manifesto on some grave injustice, it was cuz of muh 2 scoops fuck drumpf
>>
>>34256856
You're obviously a moron regardless of whatever your political bent may be. This guy was NOT using the Second Amendment for its "intended purpose" any more than Black Lives Matter idiotspawn who shoot at cops are.

Even the Obama administration never rose to the level of a "tyrannical regime," and neither has Trump. Oddly, the ones who probably came closest were Abe Lincoln, with his suspension of habeas corpus, or FDR, with his internment camp orders.

The fear is that the logical extension of some policies, once a government heads down increasingly unconstitutional path, step too far onto the rights of a free people. Obviously the definition of "tyranny" is going to be somewhat subjective, but we haven't seen that shit in this country in our lifetimes. We Americans are REALLY sensitive to it, which is a good thing so long as we curb our action away from taking extreme measures first.

This guy is no political patriot, he's just a common criminal or at best a domestic terrorist. There is a difference, and the line isn't fuzzy enough to come close to covering his sorry ass.

Not in the city of Albany, where handguns may not be carried, no matter your license, and where our gov't officials do their business. This state is fucked. I'm glad to see one of ours speaking this way, but on the whole, the handgun license system here is oppressive and downright criminal.

For those that don't know, you are issued a license that is a "concealed carry handgun license" and it is immediately restricted to just being able to own a handgun, carrying it isn't illegal but will have your gun confiscated and a police report sent to the issuing judge who takes your license away. But this way, the libs can still tell us that we are allowed to have CC license. It's all about the best sounding headline you can write, nothing to do with our rights or freedoms. FUAC!

There are lots of things you can do to not get hit by lighting.

For example do not hold a big metal rod in the sky while standing on your roof in a thunderstorm.

one option we have to avoid getting shot by a nut job is to have a CCW and shoot back.

I remember watching on of the guys getting shot at saying he never felt so good as when he saw a good guy with a gun show up and start shooting or something that effect.
