K i would like to talk discuss the Military applications of Thunderbird 2 and well all of the Thunderbirds at that, each mass produced could become quite the asset.
For example Thunderbird 2 can not only travel at 6,200 mph but is also capable of lifting extremely heavy objects and is fully VTOL. Discuss
I imagine it would be handy for deploying tanks in the midst of combat, or if you want to be more true to the original applications of the Thunderbirds, a bridgelayer or transport vehicles
Okay, make one that works in real life and then tell us how that goes.

i understand the speed is not feasible at all but i dont know enough about aircraft to consider the design over all

In some sort of trench warfare, I think the Mole may have some application as a trench digger or siege breaker, to move almost undetected behind enemy lines
It helps that it's also easily deployable from Thunderbird 2

Don't you have to be 18 to post on 4chan?
>>34252810
do you seriously think that anyone younger than 25 would even know what the fuck a Thunderbird is?
>>34252873
I'm 23, reruns of all the old Gerry Anderson stuff ran every Sunday for decades in my country so everyone my age is at least passingly familiar with it. Not to mention there a new CG reboot screened recently.

Lucky you. Last time I saw anything TB related on TV was in late 90s.

>anything is a dildo if you're brave enough

TB1 is fucking awesome
VTOL
Max altitude : 150,000 feet
Max speed 15,000 MPH
Range: Unlimited.
Wingspan 80 feet
Length 140 feet
Weight 140 tonnes
Weapons:
20mm Chin turret
Other features:
Automatic camera detector
I don't know what it is, but i just love Gerry Andersons vehicles. there's just something i can't place my finger on.
Admittedly stingray is somewhat stupid
Even though the designs and puppetry are kind of goofy, this show was one of my favorites growing up and I still appreciate it today
I even think the reboot is okay, despite all the dumbing down and censorship (they carried guns in the original)
I'm 18 and I loved Thunderbirds, I had cassette tapes that I used to watch loads. Thunderbird 4 was my favourite, the best episode was when it had to rescue people from an experimental nuclear powered aircraft that crashed in the sea.

I know what you mean about his designs, I'm pretty sure it was Thunderbirds that got me into the Cold War experimental vehicles and sci-fi aesthetic. Shit like the XB-70 gives me a shameless hard on.

i don't know its like retro future if you get my meaning. How they're the 60s view of how things in the future will look.
>>34254223
Exactly that, everything is nuclear powered, brushed steel and Bakelite. Robots make you breakfast and bring you your newspaper so you can read about how the Martian colonies are doing.
>A world with advanced technology that still maintains the demographics and social norms of 1965.
We could have had it, anons! It could have been ours!
>>34252665
It's a fusion-powered, ram-jet that can haul hundreds of tons at mach 8
Imagine substituting all it's vehicles for, oh, say, shit-tons of missiles, bombs, countermeasures, and parasitic drone fighters.
Also VTOL and hovering capability, TB2 could basically be a hypersonic battleship-helicopter-aircraft carrier
I can think of a few uses

Admittedly, there was a megashitty mid-2000s reboot that I saw so I have a vague idea.
It flies at like 1/4 of the speed of a reentry vehicle, if it released a 300kg tungsten rod while moving at that speed how much damage would it do to whatever it hit?
>>34252873
i'm 23 and watched thunderbirds and captain scarlet when i was a child. Though you're right, most probably wouldn't.
>>34252873
I'm 22 and some kid in my street had a pretty cool toy thunderbirds base with most of their aircraft. I never watched the show but I always knew thunderbirds must've been hot shit if the toys were that epic

I had that baby. It was the pride of my life until I played with it in a sandpit and all the moving parts got jammed up.
