Pure sex until you realize a few things.
1: the damn mags could never keep up with any speed besides a full second to three seconds before slamming the pump forward
2: the stock was flimsy as FUCK and literally broke just by virtue of age.
3: the side feed was retarded as fuck and meant that the 35 round drum was just a huge hindrance for anything but long distance harassing fire.

The alpha trooper fixed the ergonomic problems mostly (the stocks are all short as fuck but that's to be expected) but due to the foam darts, the magazines all have to have weak as fuck springs, and they still jam like crap anyways.

Anyways, when equipped with a six (or a twelve, even better) round mag and no stock it worked quite well as a regular weapon given you treated it kinda like their bolt actions.

The Vulcan was fun as fuck but not having modular belts to begin with made it a pain in the ass.

The recon was absolute shit, don't get me started. All of the problems and none of the benefits.

The long shot is good but only as a result of the aftermarket and the fact that the bolt handle always breaks is a big negative.

My little bro and I got each other the Double Strike for Christmas last year and I can honestly say it is one of the best Nerf guns we have.
Also it has the most realistic trigger out of all and helped me get much better at shooting my real guns.
You can practice trigger control and dry firing without any fear at all.

In fact, I always ditched the fucking box because it added bulk that I didn't enjoy.

I went to church in an old limberyard/warehouse, and the youth groups were always held in the evenings.
It had multiple stories in the warehouse, plenty of places to climb up and fuck about with nerf guns, and two stairs leading to the open second story.

That shit was the absolute tits to bring nerf guns to for afterwards and my buddies and I always brought extra guns and darts.
We'd have 6v6 games of swat or VIP.
I always took the Vulcan if I could but normally ended up with that break action double barreled pistol one (I got quite quick with the reloads) and my old long shot CS-6.

I was in my room and I see my roommate come into the living room. Then I hear him yell and run and I hear a door get kicked in and little CHINK CHINK CHINK noises. The raider was good for 2 things: its bitchen ass stock that looked good on nearly any gun and that fucking drum mag. Slap that 35 round, 10 pound mother fuck on any other gun and it became a pure rape machine. Once the Stampede ECS hit the scene, I replaced the battery with a 4-cell LIPO, and man, with that big ass drum hanging from the bottom, that thing laid down the pain.

Reloading it was a pain, as well...

Nobody's mentioned the Stampede? Nobody? Mine dumps the 35 drum with zero problems, even when I'm using flattened darts. Plus, the red dot is top notch, and I put a flashlight on the side just in case of bumps in the night. The only problems are:

>batteries really weigh it down
>built cheaply and with lighter than normal colored plastic
>some of the spring-loaded tabs to keep your accessories on are either too far forward or too behind to do their job

Honestly though, it's a more portable Vulcan. Just take the stupid shield that comes with it off, keep the grip pod, and run any size mag you have. I still like mine. (And the stock isn't too short)

This one time my kid way playing with the neighbours kids with nerf guns. They were having this huge battle and it was pretty cool. I called my son over and put a firecracker in the barrel of his gun, telling him i'd light it and he'd run over to the enemy team and scare the crap out of them. I light it and he ran over. The firecracker exploded and blew the barrel clean off. Some kids had to go to hospital because they have plastic shrapnel in their eyes. My son was freaking out and he couldn't sleep for like 3 weeks.
