>>
idk. i dont own a gun
>>
Walther P22 was notoriously known for frequent jams and unreliability. That was some time ago, not sure how it is now.
>>
>>34249815
its a joke of a company and a shell of its previous self. at this point in time its basically a namebadge for umarex airsoft quality guns
>>
>>34249815
CCP and Creed were the worst guns I've ever known
>>
>>34249815

Yes.

Didn't we just have two of these threads?
>>
>>34249815

Walther is owned by Umarex.

If it is made in Ulm, it's a real Walther
If it is Cologne or other, it's a Walther-branded Umarex

Real Walthers are top tier from the beginning. They just don't know how to advertise except for Bond.
>>
>>34249982
What's that leave on the good side? PPQ, PPS, P99, and PPK?
>>
>>34250070

I love my PPS. Sights and trigger pull are better than Glock imo.
>>
>>34250070
pretty much. the ppq 22 is also a step up from the umarex p22 or so I've heard

Seems like everyone on /k/ with a Walther either has either the PPQ or PPS, but you rarely see the P99 on here. I assume it's because it's mostly older guys still using DA/SA triggers?

What's reasonable? I usually see them for about $50-100 less than a PPQ down here.

Walther ist die Beste.

>>34250145
I love mine, they just don't import them hardly at all.

>>34250205
Retail is like $550 but you'll usually find new ones for $600+ and used ones at MSRP since they only import them biannually and they have a high demand.
>>
Is S&W stilling manufacturing the PPK or has Walther started making them in the US now? I heard the Smithy PPK has issues.
>>
>>34250145
It's my nightstand and larger carry gun, on top of being one of my favorites.
I have a current gen, and I think I'll need to get myself a gen 1 with a threaded barrel for maximum aesthetic and some Bond points.

Walther GSP

They make some of the best target pistols in the world.

This thread is 10/10 for vidya noguns and auttard
>>
I saw a brand new Creed for $350 at s store near me and it looked and felt like a nice handgun. Would it be good for my first handgun?
>>
>>34250145

They have always been hard to find, and back when it was introduced, S&W was importing for Walther along with selling their SW99clone.
>>
>>34251241

Its a Cologne Walther = Umarex

Walther is running $100 rebate on PPS and PPQs. Buy that instead.
>>
>>34250269
What's the one on the far right? It's beautiful.
>>
>>34249887
I'm pretty sure it was made by Umarex, who literally make airsoft guns, and then it was just branded with Walther. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's the case.
>>
>>34251241
I think its a nice weapon, it is just a budget ppx. I bought mine about a month ago no regrets

I actually own a P22. It's a quite old Target model with the longer barrel and an aluminium alloy extension of the frame due to barrel length legislation around here.

I have overall shot about 5000 rounds through it. Mostly CCI Standard Velocity and Aquila Superextra, with some Federal Standard and some distinctly subsonic rounds in the mix.

It is accurate and precise enough, even though the barrel extension might mess with sight alignment. I mostly shot at 25m and it was my first handgun to start practising with. The ergonomics fit well for someone with large thin palms and long fingers like myself, but guys with meatier hands had problems finding a comfortable grip on the standard grip pads. It's light overall weight is rather unforgiving when it comes to practicing shooting stance and grip, but it made me a pretty good shot with handguns as I really had to work the fundamentals down first.

As far as my opinion goes, the reliability is not an issue. I had jams very rarely (and those were almost always FTE due to a dirty chamber or extractor claw). Also, no signs of fatigue or cracking on the slide or any othe major part. The barrel extension sucked ass, though - it had to be removed for cleaning and fastened with screws very carefully as the part was hollow and the alloy couldn't take much punishment.

>tl;dr Didn't have issues with reliability or durability despite the P22's reputation.
>>
>>34249815
CCP and PK380 here
Never had an issue with either
Sent the CCP in for the drop recall even though I've never dropped a gun in all my many years of shooting
It took Walther 11 days to get it back
Not Ruger service speed, but pretty darned good
I'll likely get a PPQ this year or early next year
>>
>>34251624
Custom faux-P38k that I am immensely jealous of. I'm planning on building my own on a P1, to replace my standard P38 that I currently carry. Just need to recover a bit from my existing projects

I've got a PPQ that I've had for just a little over 6 months and put just over 1,100 rounds through it. Never had any real issues out of it, I had one instance when I emptied the last round of a mag it had a failure to lock open but I'm 99.9% sure that was an ammo issue (blazer brass 115gr) because it's never happened again. I love mine so much that I'm looking at getting a PPQ 45 in the next few months.

Is there some law that says Walther and HK fan boys must never get along? Can't we both enjoy German firearms together in harmony?
>>
>>34253121
Yes it's in the HK manual and you agree to it when you buy a pistol. Honestly they aren't bad I just hate the modern ones but the bantz are too great for me to resist.
>>
>>34253128
> hate the modern ones

I love how the PPQ shoots, but even I will admit it's probably the ugliest striker gun on the market. Yes, even worse than the new Baretta.
>>
>>34253149
My brother in law has a ton of walthers, I've shot the ppq and it was nice but it just screams "throw me in the trash" every time I hold it. Walthers needs to bring back its steel guns.

Honestly it was the 80's and I don't recall if I was wearing Adidas or Puma at the time.
Would not be surprised if there was a Walther vs HK NAZI story in there as well.
>>
>>34253158
Agreed, but sadly I think all metal guns are heading towards extension. HK, CZ, and Kahr might hold out for a while, but the writing is on the wall, much like for DA/SA.

When the next generation of pistol shooters takes over, raised on polymer and strikers, all metal guns will be a novelty, like magnum revolvers.
>>
>>34253167
> Told of Adidas vs Puma shit

What? This happened?
>>
>>34253176
I know it's heading in that direction but I remain hopeful that someone somewhere realizes our struggle.
>Henry rifles with polymer receivers
>revolvers now have steel reinforced polymer frames
>1911s made fully out of polymer and MIM
End my suffering now.

This, it was good, but nowadays its shit.
>>
>>34250145
I own a P99 first gen. It was my first gun, bought in 2000, and it still works flawlessly (had to change my old Tritium sights as they dimmed out). Some people find the trigger to be quite funky. Classic DA/SA guns have two trigger pulls. The P99AS has three (DA, SA and Anti-Stress).

I also tested the PPQ M1, which I find fucking ugly compared to the P99, but it has an amazing trigger and its slide serrations are much better than on the P99 1st gen. If it wasn't for its repulsive appearance, I would have bought one.

Fun fact: Walther P99 magazines are pretty rare, especially the old 16-round ones, but the PPQ M1 mags are P99 compatible.
>>
>>34253086
where the hell do you get the suppressor-ready ones? cant find one for the life of me
>>
I shot a PPQ once. Felt fucking great in my hands and shot exceptionally well.
>>
>>34253392
Auctions. But outside of the 22 those are just PPQ's with Jarvis barrels.
>>
>>34253405

>>
>>34253183
Yah. I think it was two brothers who had a falling out.
>>
>>34249815
I won a Creed in a raffle recently. Its actually not a bad pistol. My only concern is how long it will last with just the little metal tabs the slide rides on. 200 rds through it with no problems.
>>
>>34253392
Just buy the PPQ Navy version? same price as the standard PPQ just with a 5in threaded barrel instead of 4in non threaded and a "extended" mag with 17 instead of 15

>>
Why can't Walther hire one of the designers away from Steyr to help them with their look? That Steyr M looked pretty sleek.
>>
>>34253121
I have a VP9 and a PPS classic. I wanna get a PPQ and a USP next.

I always recommend HK and Walther to new and experienced shooters. Germans may be cucks now but goddamn they make good weapons, beer and food.
>>
>>34253493
It's just in one town in Germany, because their business seats are basically right next to each other. The Dassler brohers split up thier company after the war and their whole town with it. But I didn't experince anything like that, so I think it's just around that town.
