What hobbies does /k/ use to occupy your time other than guns. Guns I can only shoot so much when I have a slow month and don't make good money. Plus I can blow through 50 rounds of ammo in 10-15 minutes if I'm taking my time. I got into pool, I'm pretty fucking terrible but its something I can do for 23 hours a day and not spend another dime other than what the table cost.

not just "/k/ related" carbon copy action films either.

Pic related: watched that shit for the fourth time last night.

>Straight up film appreciation.

Yeah I could say I'm into this, not a bad way to spend your time. Taking "intro to film" this fall to fulfill my visual performing arts credit, hopefully they don't make it gay and I enjoy it (online class for the record).
>>
I do bouldering/top roping/lead climbing at an indoor climbing gym. 3 hours a day 5 days a week with weekends off to rest. Went from about 15% body fat to 9% in a few months not changing my diet at all. It shreds you.

Meh I like in a flat as fuck state. There is a hiking community here but I'm in a rural area outside the city so I'd have to drive out far to go hike on a regular basis. I don't game either. Shit sucks up my life and I blow up homework and shit.

Fishing, hiking, camping, kayaking.
>>
>>34244209
>Kayaking

Now that sounds sweet. I live on the great lakes so theres plenty of opportunities. Do you need an expensive kayak or any cheap Cabelas shit will do?

If you do, use this channel as a guide. Lots of info for beginners from pros about every aspect. https://www.youtube.com/user/opuz1337/videos
Most indoor gyms have other shit too. Mine has a yoga room and a weight room.
>>
Vidya, Golf, Lifting, Kayaking
>>
>>34244218
not the guy you were responding to, but I also live on the great lakes (lake MI) and I use a simple $130 Kayak from dunhams all the time. On rougher days you def would want a nicer kayak, but for calm days and little inlets/bays its great.
>>
>>34244218

you can spend anything from $500 to $15k, in either whitewater or flatwater.

if you just want to tool around the shoreline or fish, a cableas sit-on-top will work fine. It's a intro boat, but u can use as a loaner later on.

Once you decide if you like it, you can spend the shekels on a nice covered top boat for longer trips or open water paddling.

the gear is where you spend the serious bucks, if you decide you like the hobby. figure $1k on a overnight set-up with paddle, skirt, pfd, drybags etc, not including the boat.

I mostly paddle whitewater, but both are fun.

Vidya, reading, /tv/ related stuff.
I would love to have a pool table, but i don't have room. I used to be pretty good at it too. I
Also love swimming, but too poor to afford to put in a pool
>>
Why the fuck are there two threads for this?
>>
To be fair, I'm a nogunz (by force, not by choice, I don't live in the US), but since I spend more time in here than any other board by far, I guess guns are indeed one of my main hobbies.
The other two are reading and watching films, I also write but that's more of a "working my ass off to become a professional" kind of activity.

I also never ever visit /lit/, and I'll never fucking will.
>>
>>34244373
Because the other thread used some gay OP image that didn't have guns so I skimmed over it.

Other than some pc video games, which most people here tend to enjoy to a degree...
I like growing gourds all over the farmplace. It's pretty cheap and fun to take care of them all year. Then I sell them at my main street building which nets me only maybe 100-200 bucks/year, but good to get some money out of it and share it with other people.
>also, my main job is computer repair which I consider a hobby more than work
>my second job, farming, feels like a hobby more than work a lot of times
I guess life's pretty damn good when you can work 12hr days repeatedly and never really feel beat down because you're usually enjoying yourself to a degree.
>>
>>34245050
Damn. Id have a whisky with you anon. Im currently a sophmore computer science major. I feel like software engineering is a pretty intensive job in workload from what ive seen and you have to bust your ass to be anyone. Been thinking of just working for comcast or something where i can just work my way up and be a t3 network admin or something. Maybe even be a cop. Im ex mil so I could be a state trooper and make good money.

IMO, college is unnecessary for what I'm doing with computers, just basic computer repair etc. You either have it in you and enjoy it, or you don't. If you love troubleshooting etc, you'll do fine. Don't be the guy who just reinstalls windows and overcharges whenever there's a slight problem. Do it right, and people will be happy.
Aside from just having it in your blood, a few cheap screens, keyboards, mice, solder station for capacitor swaps, and plastic tables to make workstations is mostly all you need to get started.

/tg/ stuff like D&D and Warhammer. Picked up a Bolt Action starter recently. Also looking into scratch building terrain.

Just for looks. And it's fun to plant them and watch them climb. There's some really cool looking stuff like turk's turban that's supposedly edible and tastes like hazelnut or something, but I've always used them solely for decoration. They're in the squash/pumpkin family though, not actually gourds.
There's only two things my dog has bitten into that made him literally foam at the mouth due to bad taste.
A skunk I all but blew in half with a shotgun, and biting a gourd hard enough to break it open.

I write fiction. I'm currently doing a thing where a civilian who survived a grueling, near apocalyptic war ends up in an alien dimension where conflict like that is unheard of. Features mild /k/, moderate looks into human nature and the workings of the mind, and heavy culture clash. Only sort-of pretentious.
>>
I make guns out of lego, play video games, and fuck around with various things to learn programming languages - learned C# and Java through game development, learned C the fun way (with a Unix-based OS), etc
>>
>>34244147
Well, like many kommandos I'm a young college student with no money, I have two guns, but got the most part I play video games and hang out with the boys. Recently I picked up guitar again.
>>
I play golf pretty seriously. I practice 2-3x a week and try to play a round at least once a week. Golf is in my opinion sort of the perfect sport/hobby, because there is always room for improvement and you can play by yourself, so if you're a no-friends autist like me that's nice.

Also fun, because at my job we do a company golf outing once a month and everyone else only plays that one day so they are trash and I look like Jason Day in comparison which gives me some self validation I desperately need in life.

Film classes are a gamble. I took one in high school with a really great teacher that explained all the shots and pans and the significance of using different cuts and we watched some quality films, my favorite of the class being children of men. I took a film course in college and it was complete crap, did nothing but bitch and moan about representation in the media, learned nothing about actual film.

>>34244147
Pool is great fun, and can be cheap at certain bars or bowling alleys. Even better if you have your own table.

Anybody here like cooking? I always liked watching videos online and then making my own take on a dish. I also do hand embroidery and modify/sew some of my own clothes.

Vidya gaymen (pc and retro), cars, music (actually sit down and listen with no distractions), and running recently.

Fly fishing, frisbee golf, vidya, I play baseball in a semi-competitive league and I also watch at least one full baseball game a day and in the winter I snowboard and snowshoe.

As for crafty hobbies, I like to collect and build traps, I mostly collect older beaver and rat traps. I recently got into restoring old fishing rods and reels as well. My grandpa wrote a bunch of articles for outdoorsman magazines about fishing rod restoration, after he died I found the articles and I guess that inspired me to start doing that.

The two sections of it actually slide back and forth rapidly, like twin bayonets facing away from each other; as soon as one grabs hold the other one will get pulled in next to it deeper, so they really dig their way in. Once it's really in there, they inject the venom that causes swelling and lasting pain. Also they're all tracer rounds; a target marking pheromone is left in the area letting her squad sisters know to light that place up (and a wider spread alarm pheromone already put them on alert if one got freaked by you). If you get stung working a hive, you have to hit it with smoke or else suddenly more bees start popping you in the same area.
