my most recent encounter was my friend's dad who just got a Mossberg Patriot. I'm not a fan of them, and he defended his purchase like his life was at stake. The only thing it does is put more weight and movement against the barrel, and making the gun ( only a miniscule amount ) less accurate due to the barrel harmonics being affected more.

One of my friends thinks sporterized rifles are the best. He purposely goes out to find milsurp just so he can cut the barrel and stock off, then he tries to sell it for more than he bought it for on armslist.
