here's my advice; go join the american navy. join under an AECF contract, get FC, get an Aegis C school, do your 6 years, then go be a fire control officer for the Aussies. they'll throw mad stacks of money at you and you'll get all the benefits of being in a real military.

Warfare specializations are pretty interesting.
