Please share your knowledge of cheap guns. Is pic related better than having no gun? What are some other options at ~200-500?
>>
>>34230049
Armscor revolver CAN be good if you get a good one. Know how to evaluate a revolver because one of the reasons the gun is cheap is not spending money on QC.

M&P Shields are hovering between $200 and $300 right now. They're good, concealable little guns with a large aftermarket. /k/ may shit on them nowadays since they've dropped to the point that real poorfags can have one, but they're still really nice. Only downside is the poor trigger.

Beretta 92S, don't settle for any other Beretta. It has a manual safety, other Berettas do not. The most reliable and smooth shooting handgun you'll ever fire. Costs between 250 and 350 bucks. Get one.

ARs are so prevalent right now that you can pick one up for brand new one for 500 bucks. Maybe less if you're willing to do a little digging. They're cheaper than AKs. There are no excuses for not owning an AR right now and being poor is included on that list.

I'm a poorfag veteran who's going to college. I was able to afford all this by bartending two places and getting good at saving. I also just added an Aimpoint PRO and weaponlight to the AR.

Just learn how to budget everytime you get paid. I mostly get cash since I bartend, I put some aside for emergency fund/saving/investing, some for travel, some for guns/ammo/gear. It's not fast, but it gives you lots of time to build a fund as you research and look for a good deal. It's also nice buying something you're absolutely sure you want.

There is a difference between "cheap" and "inexpensive". You should only look at 9mm too because logistics and cost poorfag.

Used is the best deal as I have bought used guns that had maybe a magazine through it at most. Best deals was a LNIB 92FS with 1 year old Trijicons for $400, LNIB G17s, CZ-75Bs, and Walther P99 with nights for $350.

.40 Glocks are always significantly cheaper, and I've bought ex-PD that were un-issued, bought an aftermarket 9mm barrel/ejector/extractor, and instant G17 for $325.

Take advantage of mail-in rebates, especially now. I mean fucking Steyr, S&W, Walther, and Beretta all have MIRs. Also age of the AR-15 which can be built with basic tools.

Also common magazines, parts, overall QC, and good CS are better attributes than your $200 Spanish Ripoff with crude parts that do not exist anymore.

And? If you're such a tismo then get one with a spurred hammer. Or replace it with one. They are under 50 bucks.

I wanted dao. I already have a hammered revolver in 357. I wanted a dao wife-proof 38 with a heavy barrel.
>>
>>34236017
DAO is a smart way to do a self defense gun. You won't be cooking the hammer when you need it so being tempted to do so when training or plinking could lead to poor practices. And these are guns for poorfags ie pulling duty as self defense not just range toys.
>>
>>34235180
This is solid advice, actually. Saving up for something good gives you some extra time to mull over your decision, so you can be absolutely satisfied with what you buy. It's a different story if you're in a hurry and need to make a purchase with the money you have on hand, but it's always nice having something you aren't going to have to explain as "my cheap gun".

There isn't much that you can't get under $500. Someone was selling a used USP for $400 the other day. Revolvers are another issue. Armscors are not trustworthy. Rossi's are ok. EAA makes solid budget revolvers like the Windicator and the Ruger and Smith airweights are around 400 new. I also hear that Taurus has tried to make revolvers in recent years but the evidence remains to be seen. They are owned by Rossi and that concerns me. Pass on Charter Arms.

I'll go ahead and be that guy

I got a Hi-Point .45 (third hand) as my first gun 9 years ago and it's been flawless. Ugly, heavy, shitty ergonomics, yes, but it functions just fun and OP shouldn't shy away from one if he's so broke it's on his radar. If shitty looks at the range concern you, don't get one. If having a semi-auto .45 with an unbeatable warranty are worth the price to you, get it

Also consider a Makarov, Bersa Thunder, any of the older Ruger P-series semi auto pistols

Just saying, Hi-Points might be a nigmeme but they work

Ruger sr9e can be had brand new fir $300 give or take. Used ruger sr9 or src9 should be around the same. Used ruger p-- series for around $200. As for revolvers you might get lucky and snag cheap lcr. Look for used ruger "six" guns as well.

You can snag first gen ruger lcp's <$200, lc9's around $200. New lcp2/lc9s/lc9pro etc closer to $300, some even have a laser

Charter arms revolvers aren't terrible but they are cheap and few frills. My friend had a .38 snub beater gun and it shot surprisingly well

There are also hi-points.. memes aside, feed them good +p ammo and they are surprisingly reliable. Brand new $165. Double it give or take and You could snag the carbine, which are actually great

Older h&r revolvers are cheap and well made. They are mostly .22 and .32, if you get .32 ammo will be more of a bitch than .22

Shotguns? Maverick 88 <$185 at walmart. Mossberg 500 or remshit 870 for $300. You can honestly get good shotguns for under <$500

If you can save a little over that $500 you are almost there in a cheap AR

Don't get a nugget or handnugget

Personally I don't go below ruger, they are awesome guns at a great price point, just not as 'refined' as some others. At the higher end of your price range you could get a glock or find a deal on some sort of police trade in for even cheaper

I bought a Kel Tec PF9 zimzam edition at a local gunstore. They provide lifetime warranty gunsmithing with instore purchases so I figured if it had problems I'd just take it back until they fixed it.

It's been outstanding though. I've shot maybe about 1000rds through it and have had no issues once it had a couple hundred rds of break in time. The trigger pull is long DAO and once you learn how to pull the trigger it's surprisingly accurate.Trigger does take a lot of getting used to if you're new to DAO.

I went into work today and was able to put a first gen (39-2) in good condition on layaway for 270 after all of my discounts. It's not the greatest price, but it ain't bad. Everyone at work was telling me that it came in becuase apparently people think I'm really into early smith auto loaders.

I do already have another one on layaway, in slightly worse condition and needs minor repair (5 dollar part) for 210 though.

I guess I ain't getting that hipoint anymore, since I'd rather put the 100 dollars towards the smith. Although there are already people wanting to buy the knife and the case off me, so it'll actually come out to only 40 bucks for a fucking c9. So maybe I should... I'll sleep on it and maybe order it tomorrow

The guys saying PSA builds are the guys you should listen to, I just didn't want to wait on parts for one and got a good deal on my DPMS from a local shop. If you don't want to build one, you could look at M&P15, AR556, or a Del-Ton (don't totally recommend Del-Ton unless it's a hell of a deal).

Fucking love my P64. Excellent size, great feel, accurate. The Polish P64 isn't "a Makarov," it's a Walther clone that shoots 9mm Makarov ammo.

Seems right that after the Germans invaded Poland and then lost the war, one of their better pistol designs got co-opted by the Poles.

P64's are accurate as fuck, fixed barrel blowback design. If you can't hit your mark, you just suck as a marksman. Only downsides are that they're heavy (if you're a weak fag who cares), snappy (if you're a limpwrist fag who cares) and 6+1 capacity (if you're a shitty aim fag who cares).
