I'm looking to get a good quality 45-70 Levergat.

I want to know how you guys like your 1895s/Henry's and which one you'd recommend.

I'm looking at the 1895 Stainless Model right now, because this is intended to be a hiking companion and I've had absolutely horrible luck with blued guns while innawoods before.

Out of stock absolutely everywhere

I would get one if they were still distributing them
>>
I really like the Marlin guide gun. Anyone know if the quality is decent in newer guns? I had heard they weren't very good post buyout

get a trapdoor

I'm buying one in 2 weeks with my next Paycheck. And a red Ryder bb gun for my 9 year old brother, so we have 'the same gun'

I sincerely hope that they're still as good as they used to be. I love 4570 lever guns. And the look of the guide

1895SBL, modern production (ie; not 2008-2014). Just do it. They're absurdly fun to shoot and I almost regret selling mine.

Do you think a skinny little kid can cycle it? Also I hope it will last him long. I'm gonna use the red Ryder as his introduction to owning guns.

Got one of the bad years. Gun works great. Finish and machining are fine. It's not super smooth but has gotten better with time.

Gun is fine, get it and boom. And I hope you reload or you'll be buying rounds at $2 a pop.

I recently bought the same model. It is a blast. It probably is my favorite rifle. 45-70 is expensive and I haven't picked up dies and such to make ammo yet. You will enjoy it if you get one OP.

Get an 1886. IIRC Taylor's makes a stainless breakdown model but it's gonna cost you.
