What i mean is, given a decent suppressor, are some 9mms louder than others.

Also, im pretty new to this, are silencerco suppressors good or are they just a meme/catchy name?

compact/sub-compact guns typically don't cycle as well as full size guns. As long as you stay subsonic, longer barrel should make it quieter (though I could be wrong on that).

M9 uses Walther style lock thus the suppressor cycles with the barrel in a straight line. The inertial mass of the suppressor increases dwell time, thus the system in locked longer allowing gasses to cool a bit longer. Browning style locks can have problems because the suppressor has to tilt upward.

>>34229020
Does that make it quieter or just more accurate?

>Walther style lock
You mean falling locking block? Never heard someone call it 'walther style'.
>>34229269
Just means you dont need a booster or nielsen device. Which isnt a big deal since every major brand will have a solution for a tilting barrel.

>are some 9mms louder than others.
I've shot my ppq 9, a cz75 and p226 with my osprey. I didnt really notice anything different but we werent measuring any thing either. Just keep it sub sonic and you'll be fine Same with my p227 and p220, they sound the same...and I realize they are basically the same gun.
>are silencerco suppressors good or are they just a meme
I like 'em and I dont have to wear ears which was my goal. Go look at independent tests and make up your own mind. I'm sure there are other cans that work just as well but having 3 cans that can share pistons, springs and mounts isnt a bad thing.

what's your favorite can?
>picking up my octane 45hd Tuesday
>>
>>34229269
Not him, but its more accurate and doesn't require a recoil booster

Hard to say. The outback 2d is what it is. I LOVE pinking with that thing but its not really comparable to the others.

For pistols by far the osprey. I like that I dont have to clean it and the lower profile is a huge plus. And I dont mind indexing it. Noticing walk off immediately is kind of a bitch but it out weighs other factors. My biggest complaint with octane is that little piece between the piston and the can. That's an independent piece which I found out comes off first before your 3 lug mount. IDK, you'll see.

In reality the 22 goes on all my 22's. The hybrid floats between a couple of rifles. The octane basically lives on my 9mm ar and the osprey is my pistol can.

If thats your first can you did a good by choosing a 45.

Swapped out a MRO for the Aimpoint in pic

Silencerco is pretty meh when it comes to pistols. Their designs are either louder (your pic) or heavier (octane series). Lately they are only good in Centerfire rifles IMO (omega and hybrid)

Right now, the TI-RANT 9M is the king of 9mm, and the Dead-Air Ghost and Rugged Obsidian are tied for 45 ACP.

Cool. Thanks for the feedback. Got the octane 45 for serviceable and multi-cal for 22, 9, 40, and 44mag (lever).

NP and GL. Cans are fun...and you'll be back for more! If you're not worried about rifles I'd go 22 nest time. Cheap. Easy. And Hollywood quiet if you use a bolt and subs.
>>
>>34229020

So I should work towards suppressing my 92FS? OK.
>>

Only cucks buy Suppressors.
I mean really?
850 fucking dollars or however much that octane suppressor costs for some metal rectangle and baffles?
Wow.
>>
>>34231931
Before you go down that road a few things to consider:

You will need a threaded barrel
You still need a booster (Google it)
M92s are terrible for sight availability so good luck getting tall sights (can be done by requires gunsmithing.

I started out wanting to suppress my beretta but after adding everything up I decided I was going to be better off just going with something that came factory ready with threaded barrel and taller sights or an rmr cut. If only someone would make more sight options for the m9a3, but as for now it's a no go.
>>
>>34231177
I'm pretty sure the osprey is one of the quietest pistol cans you can get.

you have no idea what a falling locking block is

nigga what?

Question. I bought an Osprey 45 in the hopes that I'll be a non-22 hasguns by the time it's out of NFA jail. I really, really like the full size SIG P320, but they don't offer threaded barrels for it; just the compact, which I don't like as much. Does anyone know if SIG will be offering them in the future?

Any other suggestions for a full size 9mm supressable handgun?
>>
>>34232339
I hope so! But thats just a p250 barrel which gemtech does make. They are out of stock right now but might want to shoot them an email and see when their next run is.
>>
>>34233684
Thanks for the tip! Otherwise, I might just get a P226 instead. Do those suppress well?

It was actually for this reason that I purchased a rugged obsidian for my MPX. I will give you a range report in 6 fucking months.
