I want a cowboy pistol for under $600. What are my options?
how 'cowboy' are you talking? I love my 357/9mm blackhawk convertible. uberti also makes some nice clones.
>>34226073
just get a ruger blackhawk
>>34226073
You want an Uberti. Rugers are probably more practical, but they just aren't the same.
>>34226209
I'm not sure. Redpill me on .45 colt.
>>34226437
SAA or LC? Sounds like you just want a single action. get a blackhawk.

Uberti for the most authentic clone (no transfer bar) ruger for high quality single actions in a variety of calibers, but far less of a direct clone. Pietta if youre a poorfag. check armslist or other local gun classifieds if going down the ruger route, tends to be a few gently used ones for sale most of the time
This is the ultimate cowboy gun. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.

>cowboy gun
>peak performance
Pick one.

Big, slow, expensive, and unpractical. If you load it with BP you can get a shit load of smoke so they can be a lot of fun. If you just want an old timey gun with lots of smoke you can do that cheaper with cap and ball, but 45lc is a good choice for recreating the OK coral shoot out.
Get a blackhawk convertible in 45lc/45acp for something practical. Or you might also want to look into a vaquero if you want that more 'authentic' look but you might be spending over 600.

>implying you could do this with an automatic

It's fun as hell to shoot and doesn't kick that bad in cowboy loads. If you don't reload, you may as well throw bills downrange.
If you're on a budget try to get a 357 mag instead. Good choice would also be a Ruger Blackhawk convertible that can shoot 38 special/357 Mag and 9mm.
Cheaper would be a 22 but on a single action it's boring as hell, there is almost no feedback. Feels like a BB gun.

Pietta is cheaper than uberti and I honestly can't tell a difference in quality.

Just when I say boy we can't miss, you out go and then you do this.

You say this guy is so cool. Snapping his fingers like a fool.

One more expensive kiss off, who do you think I am?

Love the round. No way I'd own it without a reloading press. I can run a light projectile under TrailBoss powder and my small sons can plink all day without developing a flinch. I can also put a heavier bullet over the top of LilGun and have a hell of a hog slaying round to run through my lever gun. Factory loads are just too damn high..
You are teleported into the Old West between 1860-1897 with your choice of gun. What is it, /k/?

definitely some sort of greener double-barrel shotgun because those cost a fuckton to make and can be used for blowing the heads off desperados or hunting in the brush

Why'd you bubba that P-38?
if you wanted a compact, you should have just gotten a PPK
>>34226953
second on Pietta
also, for cheap, yet practical plinking, there's always the good 'ol Heritage Rough Rider with a .22mag conversion cylinder.
Came across 3 boxes of .22mag buried in an old range bag last week, been blasting away in the back yard.
>>34226073
Get a pinfire 12mm same as a .44

This is next level retarded.

Forgot to add.
Both the 45 colts and 357 mag/38specials use a transfer bar on the hammer. so you can load all rounds without having to worry.
>>34226689
How much?
>>34227685
By the early 1900s, that was kinda true.
For example, Tom Horn (who was pretty /k/) tried to escape jail around 1903 and a dude left a Luger under a table for him to aid in his escape. Unfortunately, it was one of the early Lugers with a grip safety and he couldn't figure out how to use it so he got caught.
