No. Just get any shotgun with an actual stock. You can pick up either 5+1 18.5" mossberg 500s or 7+1 20" mossberg 500s for around $250 each then put a magpul stock on it to reduce the OAL for less than the shockwave.

It's a range toy, and if anything the price on shockwaves will go down, not up, unless they're on some sort of sale I don't know about.

they might be easy to maneuver because they don't get stuck on things because of their short length, but very hard to aim especially in a home defense scenario. a long gun points way more instinctively because you can shoulder it. that being said, if you really want to make this a viable home defense firearm, you'd have to install a stock adapter and put a pistol brace on it so you could actually shoulder it. it'd set you back another $100 though, so if you're on a budget just get an 18 inch 500.
