Post your camo and CONTINUE bullying trenchgunfag
I'm pretty excited to get this, I finally got a real WW2 helmet that will fit my late war liner. The shell i thought was WW2 turned out to be canadian made (serial number) and the liner didn't fit properly. I got it from AtTheFront years ago. But it's no worries. I did check with Jmurray about the one I just bought and it is indeed a ww2 helmet, late war. The cork finish and chinstraps match and are in great condition. I did buy a leather liner chinstrap for it since I gave my old one to Sully with the helmet I made for him.

I currently own this one and love it and I wanted to know if its an improvement.

>>34260308

It's pretty hard to find the heat stamp, sometimes the paint can be too thick or it's in a position that's hard to read without certain lighting. I'd take a flashlight around the inside of the helmet and see if you can find any kind of stamped markings. A swivel bale with a rear seam could still be US, but could be anything from very late WW2 to post-Vietnam.

>>34264866
Mine is just OK. You may have to de-burr the eyelets yourself and the stitching isn't as "nice" as the real French examples but it looks durable enough. The hats also seem to be on the snug side due to the hole on the inside of the brim, but they said you can soak it in water on a hat stretcher to expand the hat. At the very least you can wear it around or paint/mod it guilt free.

I'm anon. I told the story in a different thread that was talking about what surp /fa/shionable. It wasn't a vet and I didn't get beat up, it was a old serbian Babushka. I was only saying be careful what you wear not from a "muh stolen valor" standpoint, but rather just being considerate about sensitive conflicts. She was horrified to see my wearing my blue tigerstripe jacket. Everyone's edgey "I don't give a shit" on here, but when you see genuine terror transitioning into a 1000 yard stare in the face of another human bean, it sticks with you for a while.
May be just me that thinks about it like that, only because I guess I sympathize with her. I moved to america at 15 years old back in 91' after going though years of conflict, and I understand how images of horrible things stick with you.

Heh, you've got another thing coming, kid. You're entering a world of pain. Go beg for forgiveness from YOUR god, while HE begs from forgiveness from ME.

Unused Soviet enlisted boots are a pretty common sight - unlike officer boots, they're made from fake leather and usually feature shitty craftsmanship so there's not much of a demand for them.
