Well, /k/, I ended up at the Crossroads of the West gun show today. Since some people have asked what gun shows are like, I thought maybe we could walk around and have a look. What do you say?
>>34219321
let's go
Find the most over priced gun just for lolz
>>34219321
did you bring your bingo card
Maybe it's because it's California and our Gunmageddon laws scared people off, but there were very few booths actually selling guns at the gun show. There were a few, with nothing very inspiring. For example, a rusty old .22 revolver.
Fuck if I know what this actually is.
Or this.
What there was, however, was a lot of AR uppers.
>>34219359
>.223
Let me emphasize, a LOT of AR uppers.
BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!
>>34219378
GHOST GUNZ
No, really - a LOT of AR uppers.
Sooooooooo many AR uppers.
>>34219321
>going to crossroads of the west
Nah
Some of the uppers were aesthetic enough. Some were just, well...
>>34219401
>>34219321
(((crossroads)))
Or were...
>>34219401
Funny you should mention that...
>>34219432
>oh it's not that ba-
>fawkes mask
Let's do play some gun show bingo, then. Jerky? Check.
Double check
>>34219432
This is amazing.
>>34219432
I always wonder if these vendors really believe all this shit of if they are just engaging in the time-honored practice of selling trash to idiots.
Cringy right-wing swag (and before anybody starts, I'm conservative too, but cringe is cringe). Check.
Double check.
Triple check.
Tables full of shitty, Chinese-made, weeb-tier/juggalo-tier gimmick knives? Check.
Double extra check.
>>34219359

Hilariously overpriced .22 ammo? Check.
>>34219583
How much for the rolls?
Weeb swords? Check.
Hideous tacticool bubba stocks? Check.
Somehow made even worse? Check.
Tasers? Check.
Flashlights? Check.
Tasers that are also flashlights (and also fidget spinners)? Check.
Military memorabilia of questionable authenticity? Check.
Cheap edged weapons in trendy "zombie-colored" green and black? Check.
Tacky accessories for your memegun? Check.
I'm lurking, keep it up op. This is great
Misc? (The Fujimi 1/72 Judy was actually kinda tempting). Check.
I would've asked for my money back for the admission, what a shithole of a gun show. People selling fucking beanie babies.
Tacky home decorations you could find at any flea market? Check.
Garage sale leftovers? Check.
Bush-era neocon belligerence? Check.
Oddball military-themed books? Check.
Double check.
>>34219548
kek those CS:GO knives.
>>34219565
>>34219583
I just saw a bunch of these same swords at an anime con. Come to think of it, that was Fanime in San Jose, I wonder if it's the same vendor.
Triple check.
>>34219915
Probably. I haven't been to a Fanime since 1998. It was getting pretty weeby then - it must be even worse now.
Cringespiration? Check.
>>34219934
It's pretty much the same as ever, just MUCH bigger and with newer weeb shit. I mostly just go to hang out with old friends who don't often make the trip down here to LA.
No nazi memorabilia yet? I'm surprised.
One genuinely cool thing worth seeing that almost makes the rest of this bullshit worthwhile? Check.
>>34219922
Did they just print that out and throw it in a binder... and tag it $19.99? lol
And next to it.
Brought to you by these guys.
>>34219979
>no photos or videos
Why?
>>34219956
I did "Nazi" much of that!
Dusty shit from the back room of an Army/Navy store? Check.
>>34219995
Theoretically the light from a flash can cause damage to certain things, but mostly these people seem like they are just up their own asses.

the left and the right really have so much in common
Some no-name 80% lowers that look like they're made of pot metal? Check.
Both AR and Glock 80% lowers, in fact.
>>34219950
At $3 a pop you'd think that'd be able to afford a better printer.
>>34220057
>Glock 80% lower
this is a thing now?
>>34220075
been a thing for some time now
Did I mention all the AR uppers? Check.
>>34219822
Anon, they're all like this. At least in mine and many others experience.
I left after about an hour and a half.
Saw this weird license plate in the parking lot which was mildly amusing. So, there's that.
did you actually see anyone buying anything?
>>34220138
Woah, I've never seen this variant, it's usually some combination of 1s and Is. The idea is that it's hard for a cop or camera to accurately read your plate from a distance.
This was my entire haul from the show - a bore snake and two stickers for my southron trap friend's new car. I spent five bucks on bridge tolls, ten on parking, and $14 on admission to get this.
>>34219524
>Anti-ISIS stickers
>Mopar sticker
What the fuck does Mopar have to do with guns or ISIS?
>>34219548
first time I went to a gun show in Jacksonville is when I learned where all of those "5000 knives for $50" late night infomercial go.
All that said, I don't necessarily feel ripped off. I'm not a poorfag, so the money isn't a big deal. It was worth an afternoon out and being able to be OP on an amusing thread on /k/. So, no harm no foul, I guess. Still, I doubt that I'll go to the next one.
>>34219673
Fuck you I want an Archangel stock for my mosin.
>>34220075
Yeah, they tend to suck a lot of ass because they (usually) have no metal reinforcements and you have to cut the slide rails yourself.
>>34219969
why the no pictures stickers?
>>34220138
>man reveals this one easy trick to get every cop in the city to harass you
>>34220115
those are some neat houses up on the hill.
>>34219995
>>34220207
I didn't ask.
>>34220225
And you don't even want to ask what they sell for.
>>34220248
it's california so i'm well aware that they are multi million dollar houses.
>>34219749
>>34219733
>>34219700
>BudK tier Chinese knives, flashlights and fucking wallhanger swords
>Autism spinners that they sell at gas stations
>Bubba tacticool stocks
>Right wing shirts too cringeworthy even for a /pol/ user
>Shitty unsellable milsurp
When did Jace Connors take over the gun show industry and are all of them like this now? What the fuck man.
>>34220286
>Right wing shirts too cringeworthy even for a /pol/ user
I think you are giving the average /pol/ user way too much credit.
>>34220286
All gun shows are like this, even the ones down here in Georgia that will literally ban you for saying Obama's name. The only difference is that the ones down here sell more Taurus crap.
>>34220286
>>34220300
OP here. Like I said, I'm very right wing myself, but yeah, cringe is cringe and when my side deserves to get called out, I will.
>>34220075
Polymer 80 glock 19 frames seem to be pretty good, since they have decent QC and the 19 model has both front and rear metal rail inserts. The things in the pic he posted are 80% 1911 frames, which are much harder to finish correctly.
>>34220300
/pol/ tends to avoid the Dubya Bush tier neocon crap.
>>34220310
My real question is how did they get like this. Half the junk there was just stuff I'd easily find at my local Mexican flea market.
>>34220513
>My real question is how did they get like this.
Same as a lot of people in sales; competition from the internet forces them to branch out or otherwise modify their business model.
>>34219851
to be fair old gi joe comics are rad
>>34220513
That's gun culture for you, I wanna be like Rambo or an operator but I don't really want to spend a lot of money and for some reason I'm really emotionally attached to this surplus slavic shitheap but I'm starting to understand the limitations of the platform so I'll buy a crappy polymer stock to fix it up.
Also I really like jerky made from things that should not be eaten and these DRAGONZ BREFF shotshells look rad.
>>34220563
Actually, yes. I owned that very issue back in the 80s.
>>34220030
Its fucking uncanny sometimes
>>34219999
Come to the VA, or anywhere else south of the M/D line, its fucking everywhere down here.
>>34219642

>>34219969
The reason for the no pictures is that if you took one and sent it to a blade expert they'd die laughing.
>>34220191
Rifle is fine
>>34220740
>8000fps plasma plinking
>>34220775
Rifle is very fine, but I want a 10-round detachable fucking box mag.
>>34219414
Oh gawd, are you criticizing our greatest ally, goy?
>>34219979
>>34219969
You rebel, you.
>>34219822
The Fayetteville NC gunshow is a really shitty fleamarket that has some guns, and spoiled jerky, and more body odor than a farm sex enthusiast convention, that costs $10 to get in.
>>34219606
A part of me wants one of these gaudy knives for god knows what reason.
>>34219412
I actually kind of want that.
>>34220919
Don't do it, anon!
>>34219412
Quick, buy some slavshit with original wooden furniture before it's too late. :(
>>34219460
That jerky is fucking good. Was at the Costa Mesa show and he was at the HB building (I think, I don't pay attention to the building names, too many of them, like 4 or something). Got teriyaki and hot jerky and loved it.
>>34220165
The guy selling it was probably some retard who thought it was Magpul or something.
>>34220286
Honestly the one I went to near Cincinnati several years ago was alright, even if it sold what were clearly Obama effigy targets, when did they go downhill?
>>34219995
Cuz its fake
>>34219329
You have one of these for Katakana? I need to get back to learning japanese

OP here. I was hoping to at least find some MREs there so I could try a little Steve1989 style action, but there weren't even any of those.
Not nice.

>>34219642
Wew lad, you could almost buy twice that.
gun shows can be such an abomination sometimes
>>34219673
Explain the Bubba meme pls
>>34219688
Wait, are you suggesting there's something wrong with the Magpul 10/22 stocks?
>>34220429
That and the 1911 ones are made of aluminum.
The rail cutter things are literally planes with a blade you tighten, then push to cut the frame rails.
The thing about "gun shows" is that they were amazingly good in the 1980's and 1990's. There wasn't the assortment of crap like today's shows, and the shows were a place where you took stuff that didn't sell in the shops, kind of like a flea market.
You could get all kinds of stuff in the early 80's. Suppressor kits, full auto parts, and people genuinely were like "who cares what the government says". Parts kits galore. Surplus ammo everywhere for cheap.
Walk around, talk to people, you'd meet militia members openly recruiting, goofy white supremacists, people like Timothy McVey who used to cruise gun shows passing out anti government things, and even people who were like
>"Ya know, I got this full auto Mp40 in my car for $500, it ain't registered but I'll cutcha a deal"
Even in the mid-late 90's they were pretty damn good. But they became a meme. Their "infamy" coupled with idiot people going to them really killed the Golden Years. Once they became popular in the 90's, prices started to go up, stupid shit started to show up (Beanie Babies, etc..) and the internet.
I remember hearing old people deny straight up and down that their $400 markup wasn't honest and that you shouldn't trust places on the internet, cuz it was the internet. It took a LONG time for them to change.
I went to the Nations Gun Show in NoVA yesterday, I should have taken pictures. Seems like even on the outskirts of DC there's more guns and less cringe for sale than in CA.
>>34224375
Going there today with my buds. I'll take them for you, pickle shop still there?
>>34219749
>fagget spinners
Kek. That became a meme so quickly
>>34219359
Oh man we were at the same gun show. I brought the price of a 20$ East German map case to 10$
I can find more stuff at the Bulgarian immigrants down the road.
Including guns.
>>34220012
I like that Hazmat suit on the rack. Looks like it has a +7 to Rad resistance.
>>34220039
>that's supposed to be metal.
Why do people even go to gun shows? Looks like a scammer convention. At least in the ponycon and Anime cons you buy unique shit but here all they have is absolute knock off crap priced at 3x it's value online.
>>34220138
Checked
>>34222384
If you need something for kindergarteners to learn katakana the language is probably too hard for you
>>34219642
$59 for both?
That's still overpriced but I guess I'd pay it if I was out of bullet
>>34219399
Good job America, great and varied taste in guns
>>34220165
Mopar is good at exploding, just like ISIS.
>>34219688
if you were teaching your young daughter about guns and she had her own 10/22 then the pink magpul stock is totally acceptable
>>34219969
I wonder how old that blade is?
Went to nation gun show in Chantilly, VA yesterday.
Wasn't too bad... lots of thirsty vendors trying to make a sell so you could really haggle. I got a sp-01 CZ for 580...not too bad
>>34219332
this
