I recommend you use an emulator or old PS2 and play the 3 classics: AC 4, 5 and 0. If you're lazy you can always look up the game on YT, the desert area at 0:31 is an important mission from AC 4 and those seem to be the wreckage of what's left so you can get the story

The game doesn't do massive exposition dump during missions like 5. Half of the story if told through one perceptive only through cut scenes. Like I mentioned, 5 has some missions literally dedicated to story telling with almost no action. They sort of fixed this with 0, and to a degree 6.

6 is actually similar to 4 in how it tells it story. It unfortunately has to many story threads and has some terrible translation issues.
