Full size pistols are essentially safe queens unless you're a cop or wear a suit everyday, everywhere. Pistols that aren't fullsize are just not fun to shoot for more than a few mags.

Rifles are much more powerful, long range shooting is really fun and challenging (and useful).

BUT, pistol ammo is so much cheaper and good rifle ranges so hard to find that, I can see how people prefer pistols.
