high fast flyers are tough to deal with from a DCA standpoint, but someone going mach snot at FL690 probably isn't going to bother shooting at a fighter and is going to shoot an AWACS or JSTARS or Rivet Joint or a tanker or a bomber.

i have no idea in DCS. in real life, MiG 31s tend to have a mix of super long range radar-guided missiles for shooting down HVAA and super short range IR missiles, and it's fairly easy for a fighter sized aircraft to avoid or defeat both. on the other hand it's difficult to shoot it down due to the short amount of time you have to shoot it.
