Get it in .308
depends what you want to use it for
Had one, was fond of it. Sold it at a profit to a man in Texas.

There's no good reason to choose 54r over 308.
The 54r market is a sinking ship, and you are restricted to 5rd single stack mags, or really long mags if you want 10+rds, and ammo selection is garbage in comparison.
It'll be a good rifle, but you'll be buying into some serious disadvantages.

this. or 6.5mm

when it has a PSL furniture kit available I might buy one

So just buy a psl or pray that m91 rifles get imported.
You'll end up spending about the same by the end probably and still have a sporter rifle.

I think OP's after a full caliber rifle.
6.5 is neat though, kindof a slightly more powerful intermediate that I'm pretty tempted to get into soon now that wolf is importing it for 762x39 prices.

There's other options

I like it anon
Great feedback. And yes, I'm after a full rifle caliber, not an intermediate round. Think I'll look into the 308 more. Thank you.

nah, fagpul. To make something unique yet still be ubiquitous... I don't know if I'm sneering or impressed.

I got the 54r from buds this April. Its neato and I just use it as my fun gun. You may want to budget in a posp scope no matter what caliber you decide on getting. Mags are expensive but the standard stock is comfy. Thinking about putting tru-oil on the stock and making it glossy like an american longrifle.
